Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Look where we were 12 months ago. Nuno and a complete mess. 1 defeat in league all season. Foolish to criticise atm. Midfield needs improving. Would like bissouma involved soon and no doubt we need a creative midfielder. Said that in summer.
That's why we have to back him and get him the players he needs. We were fucking garbage before he arrived, people have quickly forgotten that.

Yes, the football isn't what we'd like to see but at least give him 2 more transfer windows and get the players he wants. Ultimately if he's winning matches we'll care a lot less about the style he's winning them with.

We're 2nd in the group and 3rd in the league, so Conte still gets some benefit of the doubt, but not using ALL 5 subs, EVERY match is borderline negligent.

C'mon man, our results came just agains shite team, bar Marseille, and we are playing a shite and uninspiring football. We still have to play United, City and Liverpool, and Brighton is a very good team also. Playing like this we aind getting much from these games.
We'll see shall we? Because I remember the exact thing being said last season after we lost to Wolves at home, or Burnley away.

Until we go on this terrible losing run that everyone seems to think will happen, I'll choose to be positive about Spurs being 3rd in the league.

But we are playing crap and totally uninspiring football. The results are good, but will we keep the good results playing as bad as we are playing and overusing the same players that eventually will get tired? I don't think we can.

Emerson is pony for sure, but with regard to the others, I’m afraid to say Bissouma just isn’t the beast many fans cracked him up to be, Skipp is a mediocre midfield no better than PEH or Bentancur, Spence is an unproven Championship RB and Doherty is just pure dog shit.

The theory that we have top class players on the bench that would vastly improve us is just complete folly.

It really is high time we stopped pointing fingers at the managers at this football club.
I agree with your last line, but calling Doherty "pure dog shit" is just such nonsense.

And Bissouma is genuinely a great player, his record with Brighton and Lille speaks for itself. It's such a shame we can't find a place for him in the team.

My point is he needs to start rotating or stop complaining about the fixture list.

Don't just keep playing the same XI after multiple dross performances. What message does that send?

Change personnel or change system. DO SOMETHING.

Skipp and Bissouma are fine CMs they can start games for us.

Yes Spence is unproven but Emerson is proven to be shit so Conte's perisistence with him is just weird at this point.

Doherty is pretty shit too but at least he has a whiff of an attacking threat about him.

Shit- I didn't realize it was that bad. That's terrible.

I guess the silver lining to the Emerson straight red is we now have 3 prem league games where Conte will be forced to do something else. Hopefully something will happen that he likes.

Skipp was our best midfielder last season before injury. Our best half of football this season was with Bissouma playing in a midfield 3. And our best games last season under Conte were with Doherty starting RWB. You are just talking bullshit to support Conte, the fact is he's trying to prove a point and it's costing the team and fans now. Emerson is shit. 2 in the midle is also shit and he should rotate more the squad.

It would do good to remember that we are 8 games into 38 in the Premier League. All teams still have something to play for and are for the most part fully fit.

There are no easy games.

City and Woolwich are flying high. in top form and full of confidence.

Spurs meanwhile seem to be lacking in confidence. Son's goal drought, Richy's frustration to open his account and Kane's struggling form seems to be having an effect - yet somehow we sit 3rd in the table and have scored the 3rd highest number of goals.

I do believe that we need to start retaining possession more and begin to control games, but whilst Conte is achieving results; there doesn't seem to be an urgency to make any radical adjustments just yet.

I don't think we were crap last night. Some of our moves were really good and I really enjoyed seeing the defenders playing high up. It's just that our attackers failed to do their job; all a nano-second late and/or wasteful. If we'd scored some of those goals, the lead up play would be getting more appreciation.

He's had a couple already and we still look shite...no better than Nuno or Mou. So how many more windows and how much more money before we can expect green shoots? Is it just results or can/should we expect to actually enjoy instead of endure watching us play?

The top two stats don't mean anything.

Passes into the final third we rank 20th but are 3rd for scoring goals? Work that one out?

Best conversion rate?

Is it really all bad?

Anyone who wants Poch back over Conte is fucking mental, seriously, get your head checked.

We have lost ONE game under him in the PL this season and that was our first loss in the PL for quite a long stretch, we are sitting third in the PL, he got us back into the CL after years of missing out and he is a serial winner.

And despite all of this talk of the scum being a freeflowing entertaining team, we have literally scored ONE goal less than them, I don't give a shit what your eyes tell you, the stats and facts speak for themselves.

We may not have been anywhere near our best this season so far but at the back end of last season we were explosive, the football was great and I fully expect that to come again.

People forget how shit we were under Poch once the wheels fell off, sure, lots of circumstances led to that but listen, that is over! You guys HAVE TO EXCEPT THAT!

It's like watching a bunch of losers who still go on about their ex GF years after a breakup, it's done, move on, we have an upgrade now.

Doesn't matter if it's less entertaining for you, if you want to be entertained and watch your team lose week in week out then you are part of the "DNA" problem we have at this club.

Hiring Poch back would be a backwards step.

I agree with you on the notion of swapping Conte to Poch would be really poor call.

I also do not care about this talk of "playing the Spurs way" or that we should be playing on the front-foot throughout the game or whatnot. I am okay with us playing effective and pragmatic football. And that was what we did in last month of last season.

But tell me honestly - if you look our last games -
Marseille 2:0 win - utterly toothless performance, only managed to break them down after being 11 against 10.
Sporting 0:2 loss - really fucking sluggish and poor game, Sporting played with lot more heart and got absolutely deserved win.
Leicester 6:2 win - in the end large score win... but in the 1st half we were absolute garbage. super lucky not to go on the break 3:1 or 4:1 behind. But lapse of concentration by Ndidi right after interval and brilliant Son hat-trick helped us to win it. But for 60 minutes of this game, Leicester had much better and more chances... and they sit on bottom of the table.
Scum 1:3 loss - another limp performance, first ~30 minutes there was only one team who turned up. And 2nd half... well... was our turn to have lapse of concentration (Lloris) and then Royal sealed our faith.
Frankfurt 0:0 draw- another limp performance when we lacked the cutting edge.

I am not sure what you see in this run. I see 5 poor perfomances in a row.
And there is no change being even tried. We still start with CM 2 of PEH and Benta, which means we try to find our attackers with hopeful hoofing of the ball from within our own side. We still have Royal starting as RWB even though he is 100% unable to make logical decision and execute it adequately in the final 3rd.
And to top it off - our NLD lineup, 100% of it in fact, was rewarded another start in following game, despite perofmance being poor all around. Where are we going with this? What signal does it send? How to those players feel that are arrogantly overlooked?

I am honestly afraid that already now, Conte is more obsessed with "being right" and "being the one who shows how things are done" more than he is with winning. And IF (and I hope it is not) this is true, I can give you guarantee that things will turn shit soon and he won't stay in charge until end of this season. Once more - I don't see us getting better manager now or in few months time. And I hope this is all just temporary issue. Just that I feel A LOT less optimism than I did in the end of August. Trend is worsening, and I don't see change in direction. Not even attempt to change anything. And it concerns me.
