I agree with you on the notion of swapping Conte to Poch would be really poor call.
I also do not care about this talk of "playing the Spurs way" or that we should be playing on the front-foot throughout the game or whatnot. I am okay with us playing effective and pragmatic football. And that was what we did in last month of last season.
But tell me honestly - if you look our last games -
Marseille 2:0 win - utterly toothless performance, only managed to break them down after being 11 against 10.
Sporting 0:2 loss - really fucking sluggish and poor game, Sporting played with lot more heart and got absolutely deserved win.
Leicester 6:2 win - in the end large score win... but in the 1st half we were absolute garbage. super lucky not to go on the break 3:1 or 4:1 behind. But lapse of concentration by Ndidi right after interval and brilliant Son hat-trick helped us to win it. But for 60 minutes of this game, Leicester had much better and more chances... and they sit on bottom of the table.
Scum 1:3 loss - another limp performance, first ~30 minutes there was only one team who turned up. And 2nd half... well... was our turn to have lapse of concentration (Lloris) and then Royal sealed our faith.
Frankfurt 0:0 draw- another limp performance when we lacked the cutting edge.
I am not sure what you see in this run. I see 5 poor perfomances in a row.
And there is no change being even tried. We still start with CM 2 of PEH and Benta, which means we try to find our attackers with hopeful hoofing of the ball from within our own side. We still have Royal starting as RWB even though he is 100% unable to make logical decision and execute it adequately in the final 3rd.
And to top it off - our NLD lineup, 100% of it in fact, was rewarded another start in following game, despite perofmance being poor all around. Where are we going with this? What signal does it send? How to those players feel that are arrogantly overlooked?
I am honestly afraid that already now, Conte is more obsessed with "being right" and "being the one who shows how things are done" more than he is with winning. And IF (and I hope it is not) this is true, I can give you guarantee that things will turn shit soon and he won't stay in charge until end of this season. Once more - I don't see us getting better manager now or in few months time. And I hope this is all just temporary issue. Just that I feel A LOT less optimism than I did in the end of August. Trend is worsening, and I don't see change in direction. Not even attempt to change anything. And it concerns me.
