Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ive seen him play since his Fulham days

Oh goodie... You're the first person to stick their neck out and say that they have.......

- Can he actually defend...?
- Does he have the discipline to operate within the given parameters of a given position?
- Is he tactically aware?
- Is he diligent enough to fully commit to the necessary work at both ends of the pitch? ....Week in and week out or just in big games?

I ask because - conspiracies aside - there must be something that prevents Conte from playing him and when he made his cameo vs Forest he was extremely erratic; particularly in terms of positioning......

I'm still not sure if he's the one to take us forward, but to have the third most goals scored this season when you're top scorer last season has been space jammed is pretty good.

Any win is welcome at the moment. We shouldn’t be losing the run of ourselves though. It was a hard fought and not pretty 0-1 at a newly promoted side. We’ve apparently won on our last 7 visits to Craven Cottage.

Listen. If we can get some reinforcements in january and push for top 4 in this second half of the season, we are still within a shout. United are only 3 points in front with a game in hand however I do suspect they will slip up at times from now until the end of the season.

4th place finish would be another miracle from Conte and well above expectations with this squad

Not sure - actually think a bigger opportunity (over signings) is a change in formation to 3 in midfield. I guess both would give us a real opportunity (and also to challenge for cups with a decent draw), but point is I don’t see us finishing 4th with a midfield pair, no matter who we sign

Also flexing on continually picking out of form players eg Son, PEH when we have better options in the squad (Lloris, Dier don’t have alts)

4th place would not be a ‘miracle’ from Conte. Chavs and Dippers are utter gash this season.

With an ‘elite manager’ on £15 million a year, we have 1 point from 21 against the big sides this season - Woolwich (x2), Citeh, Dippers, Newcastle and Man U.

Any manager who’s held out as one of the best in the world, should be ashamed of a statistic like that. All the more so as we were rubbish for practically all 7 of those games.

We have weaknesses in the team, most notably defensively but we have a lot of quality players and we have massively underperformed all season.

For fuck sake, we were pressed out of the park against Fulham for 30+ minutes.
Good teams have and will kill us with that kind of start (been saying this for months now, up to now it has been 100% true - just look at 10 games prior to Fulham). There is no plan nor cohesion.
In first half they had 4 better chances than we.
Our passing was shocking and movement in snail-pace.

I am happy that we got a win yesterday, but we won due to absolute world class that is Harry Kane.
He was here before. We need more than hoping for miracle work from one legend. This cannot be our gameplan going forward.

We need actual tactics.
Actual awareness from one player where others are.
Actual agreed movements...

Strap in gang. Another former Chelsea boss enters the fray.

Per Italian Il Messagero, Spurs have Maurizio Sarri as an option should Conte leave in the summer. But both West Ham and Everton are also tracking him.

We'd play some good football but reek of smoke. But based purely on style of football I think that he would be a decent fit.

That was a Conte performance.

Excellent stuff!
Conte is not going anywhere, and he should'nt.

Stick behind the team and the manager.
It wasn't pretty but certainly wasn't a poor performance, thats nonsense
What an absolute helmet you are
Seems pretty clear, Conte is committed to this year and trying to win.

That’s enough.

I have to say I am happy that you lads are happy.

As I said before - good that we got 3 points yesterday. Win is a win and in terms of points, we are within touch of top 4 - have to match Toon results and beat them in our game.

But make no fucking mistake - we are in absolute trainwreck situation still.
How can one say "wasn't a poor performance, that's nonsense" - please, rewatch the first half. We were pressed onto our half... BY FULHAM. Our only route to get ball upfield was basically hoofing long balls with eyes closed.
I give you my 100% guarantee - with such first halves, every decent side (in EPL that includes Gooners, Shitty, ManUre, Chelscum, Dippers AND Toon) WILL finish us off. It is very comfy to pat yourself on the back with absolute bullshit like "oh, but we played like equal to equal with Gooners and Dippers during 2nd half!" - WHAT WAS THE RESULT IN THESE GAMES ffs?!?! Definition of loser mentality.

This team has no spirit, no adequate movement, one player does not know where other is.
It is painful to watch, not because it is defensive or conservative. It is painful to watch because technical ability of the players + how they are set up is just fundamentally poor.

In such way, lucky wins like yesterday are best we can really hope for. Win against Fulham and Crystal Palace, between hammerings by Goons, ManU and others like it. It is simply not good enough. I cannot grasp how some people do not see that, after we went 10 points from 10 games with 21 goals conceded ?!?

All I said was Conte is sticking it out for the season and clearly committed to it being successful.

Given the mess of his contract and the other cluster fuckery, that kind of clarity will do.

I don't think anyone is suggesting it's brilliant though.

The way I look at things is had we lost last night the knifes would have been out and everyone would be slagging the manager and team off. We beat a team which is having a really good season and has taken points at home from a lot of teams.

Last night was one of our better performances, we looked much more solid than in recent weeks.

I do agree our form against the top teams isn't where it should be but that's where we need to improve the defence and goalkeeper which can only be done over time.

I wouldn't go as far to saying the team has no spirit.

The long ball football isn't for everyone but nor is passing the ball around for the sake of passing the ball around.

Lloris also spilled the ball twice from shots, just with nobody around. He did make a couple of blinding saves to be fair, especially late on but he's still a fucking calamity.

Sometimes you need an ugly win to get back in the saddle. Especially if you are on a losing streak.

Last night was not pretty but it showed consistent effort throughout the game, which is something that we have lacked all season. So I see that as a step forward.
