What are the family issues going on with him? I must have missed that, obviously there's the Gian Piero Ventrone thing which understandably must be very difficult.
His family are still in Italy. I think perhaps with 3 close friends dying its probably put things into perspective. Does he really want to miss his daughter growing up to fight tooth and nail to get us 4th every season with all the stress that goes with it?

Exactly this. I think these next few weeks will be decisive in terms of results. If we start winning and looking good again, he might decide it would be worth it to stay rather than go back to his family in italy

For some reason he has trouble bringing the best out of our players. Which he was really good at before.

With the exception of Kulu / Kane / Romero~ everyone has been really below standards this year.

Romero is worse than last season.
Kulu has yet to really get going.

Pre-injury, Bentancur has been the bollocks...
PEH has had a few poor games, but otherwise has played some of his best football since arriving.
Davies has low-key been his usual steady, decent self.
Sarr's cameos have been good.

Slim pickings though.

The fact that things are on such a fickle, reactionary knife-edge bothers me, tbh.

Lets say we get top 4 and he signs a 3 year deal; are we still gonna go through this crap any time we have a rough spell?

Yeah perhaps. But as a club we have to ask ourselves is that what we want. Even if everything clicks for the rest of the season then we maybe get another year out of him. I think we need to move away from the short term in both managers and players.

I don’t think so. I still think the two deaths are the biggest part of his morale right now. And I think as his daughter gets older they could potentially move here. I’m not concerned

I respect the personal life stuff...... These things are consistent whether you are a multi-millionaire or not.

........It's the suggestion of "top four or I"m gone"; as if he doesn't have a key role to play in that and he himself hasn't performed questionably this season.

It's something he needs to understand too.

He's blown a lot of hot air about understanding the project, but a lot of this noise suggests that it's just hollow sentiment.

This is the reason many people thought this would be a bad fit. Many people also (IMO correctly) said that this is the best coach we could possibly get.

So here we are. Might as well win something.

If we can; yes that would be more than nice.... Prior post still applies though.
