I don't follow the arse so their dealings went under my radar. I was aware of Jesus and Zinchenko. Without wanting to give any credit, it seems they have made some good decisions and been patient.

Which is as far as any of this recognition needs to go.

All this constant fawning, the shite implying that 'if only Spurs spent more money then Arse wouldn't be top' and people saying shit like "you deserve Arse to win the league" can fuck off.

You didn't need hindsight - go look at the Levy appreciation thread, plenty of fans who called it as a bad window.

Some people call shit "a bad window" no matter what.......

I actually prefer evaluating a window after the fact - cos all the fluff and bullshit spewed during a window means nothing and impact is ultimately all that matters - but calling everything shit, knowing that one can just casually saying "I was wrong" should something good transpire takes no special insight.

It was a very mediocre (at best) window though. Reguilon I'll admit to being quite intrigued by but Bale was just a chunk of meat to throw to the fans, Vinicius/Hart/Rodon were all incredibly meh, Doherty was & is a mid-table level wing back we signed to play in a 4 & Hojbjerg is a steady eddy.

You didn't need hindsight to see this list of players wasn't moving the dial for us. Now last summers window? I thought it was ok, so over-criticising it too much would be hindsighty. It was bad to not sign a LCB/RWB but I expected a few players to do better than they have done.

As above; I only mildly called it decent (and would have reserved any deeper judgement at the time.)....

...And that very thing was happening just a page ago.

RWB, I understood, but no CB was weak and I said as much at the time.

I thought Richarlison, Bissouma & Perisic would have a solid impact, and that Lenglet would at least be a good upgrade on Davies. Wasn't sure on Spence but I'd seen a bit of him in the championship & thought he at least looked like he'd be a good option.

So yes .. no major complaints about the summer. It wasn't amazing or anything but we added players that most would consider to be possessing quality.

I wasn't exactly 'jazzed' about Richy, but assumed he contribute more than he has (injury/positional compromise accepted)...... Tough to swallow when he's your 'marquee' big money guy.

Conte better have got this right and the team is strong enough to win. Otherwise my support for him which has waivered in recent weeks will go down the pan along with our season and the only realistic chance of a trophy.

I was confused that we were willing to spend 60 million on a guy who only hit double figures (minus pens) once in his PL career .. especially since our LW/CF options were key players. It seemed a weird allocation of resources, good player but were there definitely cheaper players out there in Europe who could provide a similar role? Yeah.

Seemed a little bit unimaginative, basically.

Dangerous if not prolific. I just assumed that 'tried and tested' was considered worth the extra dosh and that Conte would love working with a player of his ilk.

It's not like it fits the fabled Levy-profile of "good sell-on potential" or that it was opportunistic; we were on his case from the off.

I think it's because he is the club's Kane contingency. If Kane doesn't re-sign, and we are pushed to sell in the summer we'd make more than £60m shifting him, thus profit on the deal.

If we go out tonight then it should be a night of the long knives scenario. Think we'll go through but can see it being a struggle with that line up.

But you aren't a scout and have no idea what is available out there - the kind of places where the clever ppl look like Brentford, Brighton etc.

It's totally meaningless that you and plenty of others (myself included) were satisfied with the window at the time. So far it's proven to be yet another shit one and that's ALL that matters.

Our recruitment has been pathetic for so many years and we arrested it with Kulu, Romero, and Bentancur. But we needed more to carry on undoing the damage. And this summer we appear to have sodded it up again

- People were buzzed as fuck about Reg.... Especially BEFORE we signed him... Shitting themselves at the thought of Man U getting him instead.
- Doh & Hoj were both Jose picks.
- Bringing Bale back was encouraged by a large amount of the fanbase.

+ Vini, Hart & Rodon squad options......

Not stellar, but without the gift of hindsight; it seemed like a decent batch of business.
Bale was finished, Zidane and Ancelotti both didn't want to play him , he then retired.

Hoj were okay

And now we know jose never wanted rodon, he wanted kim min jae for 10m and was rejected

It's lovely how the "Antonio Antonio" chants now seem to be automatically followed by the "Levy out chant".....Almost like it's now merged into a single chant.

Even the BBC commented on it.

Letting the whole world know where our issue is and that we support our winning manager.

Wonderful stuff. Brought a tear to my eye, actually
