It would be cover for Forester, what happens if forester gets injured now?

Whitman/Austin presumably.

TBH, I'm not gonna protest too heavily if it helps us out, but I don't like the emergency keeper signings rule........ If you've got fit keepers in your squad you ought to turn to them first.

Sure; if all 4 are out then that's a freak injury crisis, but that's anything but common.

If you're turning out some helpless 16 year old who's at risk of getting broken in half that's one thing. Austin and Whiteman are experienced senior players and we shouldn't be allowed to sign anyone else.

Bastoni is the only realistic one of the 3 mentioned here

Skriniar is going Paris and Gvardiol I'd say is going Real Madrid.

Do you want Whitman/Austin to start for the first team? I don’t They are clearly not ready

"Player we would bring in being better than what we have isn't a reason to sign a player."

Umm... what is then?

Swapping Tanganga with potential market value of 15 mil to free transfer that is better is actually very reasonable piece of business. You upgrade AND free up resources.
I’d prefer to sign a player because they are good enough to help us win things.

If they need to be homegrown then get Tomori, Guehi, Killman…

If you can a good homegrown player elsewhere, then get a genuinely top class CB.

Like I've literally just said; I think the rules should dictate that that's what happens.

If Kane gets injured and we don't fancy the alternatives; it's deemed tough shit.... GK should be no different. The onus is on clubs to tool up as they see fit during the designated trf windows.

Makes sense.

Come the summer, him and Eric Dier only have 1 year left on their contracts. I imagine we'll look to move Sanchez on for a fraction of the fee we signed him for (Or use him in some sort of swap deal) and Dier will sign on for perhaps a year or two extra.

I'd expect Dier to get two years minimum......

It's a bit of a piss-take to only offer him 1 year at his 'tipping-point' age.

Yeah Sami Mockbel is really pushing our interest in him.

I like him, think his contract is the main reason for the cost.

Suspect we want him and Bastoni/Hincaipe

It’s not that I dislike him as a player, it’s just a lot of money. We need to spend that on two centre backs and a goalie. Are we really going to drop nearly £150 million on three players? I’d be absolutely shocked. We need to of course.

The consistent links form the press paint an encouraging picture, our (hopeful) business is looking predictable.

Raya at GK
LCB Hincapie or Bastoni
CCB Guehi
FWD - who knows - Someone like Bowen/Harvey Barnes? again HG options. Or what about Gnonto from Leeds?

with Lenglet going back, Sanchez hopefully being sold and Lucas leaving.

The great thing would be to find buyers for Winks, Rodon, Lo Celso (Possible deal with Danjuma if DJ works out) Ndombele, Reguilon .

Gil, Spence and Udogie will come back in and I wouldn't be totally shocked for us to sell Bissouma and go for Ugarte - don't want Biss to go but would welcome Ugarte in without doubt.

The thing is with that prospective business is that 2 of the 4 are homegrown and that's critical.

Lets assume Lloris moves on to a French club and Gil & Spence get decent PL loans would people be happy with this squad

GK Raya, Forster

LWB Udogie, Sessegnon, Perisic
LCB Hincapie(or Bastoni) Davies
CCB Guehi, Dier
RCB Romero, Tanganga
RWB Porro, Emerson

CM Hojbjerg, Skipp, Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr

LWF Son, Danjuma
CF Kane, Richarlison
RWF Kulusevski, Barnes(Bowen/Gnonto)

Thoughts? Appreciate there's a fair bit of speculation but I don't think I'm too far off.

The only other thing I Could think of is if we sold off all the loanees and got 60-80 maybe instead of Bowen/Barnes types we could go for Leao or Kvaratskhelia but I supsect that's a little too ambitious.

Reckon the forward will be left footed Kulu rotation.

I guess that Gil gets sold which is sad but better to let him go if he won’t play.

Hopefully it’s Kudus from Ajax.

Raya, Guehi, Bastoni and Kudus would be getting some business done.

I'd rather N'dicka to Guehi if it means we have to take Pickford I'd take Guehi and Raya to dodge that pikey bullet. Gvardiol is the dream but he's beyond reach. I have serious reservations about Hincapie and Bastoni. We will need two centerbacks so Prehaps we are hoping for Bastoni and Guehi. I do wonder if Bremer might become available as Juve have real issues. He is certainly a Dier upgrade .

Hate the idea of getting Pickford though

Good post

and agree about Gnonto the lad looks amazing and quite frankly whoever spotted him at Leeds utd needs a mention
gifted footballer And 1 to watch in the future

The prices for footballers nowadays are fucking ridiculous. While a good player, he isn't even an established international. I'm not sure he's much better than Dier.

He genuinely looks like a your bang average mid-table PL CB. What is about him that has other people so excited?

Regarding Gvardiol

- Romano said Madrid were following him but no negotiations yet. I think they will also be focused on Mbappe. They also have Rudiger, Alaba and Militão. They are definitely the favourites for him though as Alaba is aging.

- City could also use him but there is so much uncertainty around that club right now, I wonder if they will even try

- Liverpool could use him too and he said he was a fan of them but they might not get Champions League

- Bayern don't need any CBs, but apparently they are interested too

- Chelsea also don't need any more CBs, and Potter said they won't be spending as much as they did these past 2 windows. Might not get UCL either

- Spurs need an LCB upgrade more than all of them. IF we get UCL, and assuming we're still interested even after the 80 million release clause talk, I'd imagine we would have the power to make a bid for him if we really wanted to.

I think it will take an absolute miracle to get this guy ahead of those other clubs but my stance is that he is worth breaking our transfer record for. For me he is far and away the best option available and really is worth double Bastoni's asking price.
