Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He said himself that he ignored his specialist and rushed back.

Here's hoping he actually takes the time to rest now. Stellini and Ryan can handle this.

He's got a lot of shit recently but I don't think anyone can question his hunger for the job day to day. It's obvious he doesn't want to stay long term now but I don't think anyone can question his professionalism. I suspect a lot of the club employees could benefit from the same attitude.

He shouldn’t have come back so soon, it would be better to have Stellini on the bench than the diminished Conte. The passion he shows on the touch line is a huge part of his work, the players need to see that from him. He should only return when he is ready to leap around like a mad baboon again.

He's a driven person and even if he has had a rough year he clearly loves his job. But like many driven people before him he underrated how much rest and recovery that he would need post surgery.

has he had a worse season in pro football, away from his family, death of friends, gallbladder removal.
the guy is misrable, he'll be a much better coach when he's back managing juve or AC is the summer

hope he stays in italy for awhile, mini sabaticol, heal up, spend time with wife and daughter, come back in a couple weeks for milan return game, refreshed for the last few months.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia and MediaSet, the Dane said: “Kane was the first problem to face on every Tottenham move. It was important to block him off and then press the others.

“We were ready for a lot of their moves and did what we prepared in training. We knew exactly what they were going to do.”
Everyone does. It’s the same patterns every time. To begin with, Kane coming deep to flick into the channel for kulusevski was direct and thrilling. Now, 12 months later, it’s stale and predictable.

Incredible how little we’ve progressed.

Tottenham have confirmed that Antonio Conte will remain at his family home in Italy following a post-operation check after he had gallbladder surgery earlier this month.
Conte had the surgery on February 1 after being in significant pain, and was advised to take a break from the touchline, but he returned to train the Tottenham squad the following week.
However, he is now set to remain away from the team in Italy, with his assistant coach Cristian Stellini taking charge of the side for their home clash with West Ham on Sunday.

In a club statement on Thursday morning, Tottenham announced: 'Following a routine post-operation check in Italy yesterday, Antonio Conte will remain at his family home to recover from his recent surgery.

'Health is the most important consideration and everyone at the Club wishes him well.

'Cristian Stellini will assume First Team duties.'

The 53-year-old manager was not in the dugout for Tottenham's 1-0 win against Manchester City on February 5 after surgery, but returned for the team's next game six days later, which they lost 4-1 at Leicester.

Following that match, he revealed that he had defied doctor's orders to rest for 15 days after his operation, and he was on the touchline again to lead his team in their Champions League clash with AC Milan on Tuesday, despite admitting that he is currently unable to shout properly.

Spurs slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat, but Conte remained upbeat afterwards and insisted that he would be fully fit for the return leg on March 8.

'The next game, I will be fit and I will try to give my contribution,' Conte said.

It is currently unknown as to how long Conte will stay in Italy for, with Spurs' next match after their home game with West Ham coming against the Italian's former club Chelsea on February 26.

Tottenham then face a busy period before next month's international break, as they play Sheffield United in the FA Cup, Milan in the Champions League plus Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Southampton in the league.

A lot of people rightly questioning his commitment but he did look rough as fuck and ill in his interviews.

Probably shouldn't have been on the touchline for the Milan game. The fact that he tried when he is clearly unwell is credit to him.

I think he needs a break from football, what's happened in his private life is bound to affect him and the team, parting ways at the end of the season is probably for the best.

Doesn’t do much good to wait until the end of the season. My guess is he’s trying to protect his assistants and that’s admirable but I hope Levy and him are working on a buyout begin the scene and we have someone else in here by mid March

Sack Conte, bring back Poch, then sack Poch and bring in Tuchel or Howe or whomever is currently out of a job.

It's meaningless as long as those ENIC cunts are in charge.

Season is all but over anyway, bar the FA Cup. At least it looks as if Woolwich aren't going to win the PL. Small consolation though for a season in which I feel out of love wit both Spurs and football in general.

Isn't guaranteed to be good for the team to change at this point of the season.

New manager bounce is never a sure thing, especially when it's obviously Poch and he never gets anything out of a squad until he's had a pre-season with them.

Pretty cursed season and somehow still in 5th, in the FA Cup and CL.

Not even really sure what that says but somehow, it's actually a positive.
No it's not positive.
Do you think we can win either FA cup or CL?
Do you think we can finish top 4?
Do you think we are playing attractive winning football?
Do you think our defending is any good?
Do you think Bentancur being out for the rest of the season is not a worry?
