So they didn’t want Poch back, didn’t want to interview Nagelsmann further and can’t attract a manager in Slot from the Dutch league.

This is worse than the search of 2021 because of the quality of candidate available. It must be utter chaos behind the scenes. They’re going to fuck it up well and truly. Is anyone really surprised?

The merry go round continues!

I did get my hopes up for Slot, I'm hardly a dutch football expert but from the outset he did look a good fit.

Shame, though I must admit I'm not feeling enthusiastic about the next manager. My first and original choice was always JN and unless the board have got some masterplan up their sleeve anything other than him I'm gonna be very un enthusiastic about.

Please not Potter, I can't cope with another Chelsea reject. Brendan Rodgers is a definite no go, comes with too much negative baggage.

Honestly de zerbi is the best manager we could get. If the club isn’t going for him because he hurt their feelings by fighting with Stellini then we should pack up because clearly building a good team isn’t the priority.

If we can’t get the manager from a successful Feyenoord how are we going to take the manager of Brighton? They have had a great season in a top league, they played a semi final, they had a better season than us.

Exactly. Let’s not forget that the last three managers we have hired, were unemployed. Why would anyone leave a good job to work for Levy?
Pretty much yeah. These clubs have various set goals, with very clear plans to get there through the hiring of the best staff available. If one domino falls, they have back-up plans more or less ready to go immediately.

Our club's only goal currently is to get more money, and they have absolutely no idea how they want to do that on the pitch, aside from charging the fans obscene prices. They don't give a shit about trophies, the fans, or seemingly even the staff. It's gone to absolute shit over the past five years; the board is a cancer on the club and needs to be removed ASAP or we'll end up being the next Everton.

All this cheesy talk recently " derr' .....I just want someone who wants to be here "

:angryscouser:

Well, basically. It seems like nobody does

Well yeah, that’s the problem. Nobody wants to work with Levy. If you are a lower profile manager like Poch, Jol or Redknapp he will sack you for not achieving a miracle on a shoestring. If you are a Bertie Big Bollocks like Conte or Mou will sack you for demanding top players.

Well, whoever our new manager will be knows he wasn't first choice now. Great stuff.

Unless of course it somehow ends up being Nagelsmann who is the only way this doesn't end up being a colossal failure.

So every journalist has just got this wrong that they were negotiating a release clause yesterday, when really they were negotiating an extension?

I wonder what’s really gone on, but this club has learnt absolutely nothing from the 2021 fiasco

It’s EXACTLY the same pattern as Bastoni. As soon as it’s clear we won’t pay, they want to stay.

Don’t worry though, in a couple weeks Airfixx Airfixx Château NoHo Château NoHo will be saying with full gusto that we could never have got Slot because he wanted to stay at Feyenoord and play Champs League.

The playbook is so obvious now and once you are known for being cheap, it gets harder and harder to get any deal done for assets you want.
