Ok say Slot was our number 1 target, we have done the due diligence on all the candidates and have already decided Slot is the best choice, then in what world do you not pay the compensation because you have already identified that he is everything we want in a Manager.

Not at 20 million pounds and if there is no wriggle room.

And the reason is that any such manager would need to have a fantastic track record.

Slot may be good but not yet at that level of compensatory payment.

Brilliant work being done by our Board.

Slot would rather stay at Feyenoord f’in Feyenoord than become our manager.

Levy’ reputation/indecisiveness/incompetence is really starting to bite when recruiting managers/DoFs.

Just know the club were readying their usual PR bollocks of we never actually wanted slot, but he beat us to it and said he’s staying lol
Good, hope everyone that rejects us does the same. Levy won't go until he and the club smash into rock bottom with a thud.
They cannot ask for 20m just arbitrarily, say he had 3 years left at 2m a year the contract can be bought out for 6m , if it’s 3m which I doubt it‘s 9m . i am sure the new contract is more now though , but that is academic sadly
That's not how compensation works in this regard. Whilst they would have to pay him his salary if they sacked him, we don't pay them his salary if we poach him.
Much like a player transfer fee, they can pick whatever number they want to release him from his contract.

Sorry this guy wouldn’t even be my 7th choice of all the names that were available when Conte was sacked, I’m sure he plays good football in Scotland but there’s no way I can fake excitement over someone who’s only European experience is managing Celtic.

5m is a lot of money to spend on a manager particular being a premier league club. Champagne tastes this club...beer money.
How much have we spent on Managers wages and pay offs in the past 4 years?

If he was identified as the best candidate you pay the money. It's what big ambitious teams unlike us, do.

Expect the freebie.
