I'm nearly at the point of no longer caring who the next boss gonna be.

Cause the reality is, it could be Pep or Jesus friggin Christ himself, it will eventually make zilch difference as long as we've not chopped the head of the snake off plus cleared some serious deadwood at the bottom.

Unless Mr New Guy is a miracle worker (as Poch was) and to be honest even if he is...the day will come, it's all gonna end the same...the man in the middle will take the fall for incompetent, clueless owners/directors on one hand and shitty, lazy players way past their best-before date on the other.

If Mission Impossible was a football club...

ElSpaggyBoy says « oh great…he’s going to be Barcelona manager and he’s managed to beat Balaguer and Igualada playing some fancy football with the support of one of the richest club’s academies… not gonna raise my sangria to this cunt ».
Oh you can do better than that.

ChicoSpagamente!

Anyway, I wish people would stop making comparisons to situations where clubs wanted to consolidate their club culture and/or make connections to the emerging group of elite players from a youth academy.

Our club culture is awful and our academy has been barren for years.

We need fresh eyes and new ideas.

You have strong opinions based on reputation. How many times have you watched Celtic under him?

Yawn. How many times have you watched him? Or anyone else on here for that matter.

My strong opinion is that he’s a punt. Anyone still managing in Scotland at 57 is obviously a punt.

He might well be great, but the happy clappy regulars desperately trying to hype themselves up for literally anyone is amusing.

Slot was the saviour now people convincing themselves Ange is because he’s won stuff in Scotland and Australia. It’s pure copium of the highest degree.

You started spouting nonsensical, lazy bollocks when it came to him and dismissed his ability to coach because of the level of leagues he's managed in.

I'm willing to bet that if we appointed him, he wouldn't be out by Christmas.
My biggest concern with Ange isn't wether or not he's a good coach. It's more to do with us being in the mess we are in and him not having enough "credit" in the bank to see through a tricky spell, if it's rocky the fans won't give him a chance because of the issues with Levy and Enic.

Feel like he shouldn't be the start of the experiment but one who would come in after one before him had been relatively successful spell where we would already have trust in a DOFand fans weren't looking for excuses to bash the board the minute it goes south.

My other concern is our rivals will call him the..... Flange from Oz

I don’t know anything about him but I’m not pretending I do and on that basis I’m not going to have strong opinions.

The club don’t know either. We don’t have a DoF and our recent history in terms of scouting ANYBODY is terrible.

Hence why logical conclusion = punt because Nagelsmann is a no go & Slot doesnt want to know.

Again, doesn’t mean Ange won’t be golden, but let’s call a spade a spade here. He’s a punt.

If it isnt Naglesmann and we cant get De Zerbi, both of which seem likely then Postecoglou at least seems an impressive charachter, a bit of a leader with a personality and he obviously wants to play good football. Its not Nuno. Quite honestly i'd prefer him to the remaining candidates. I still cant quite get my head around not wanting Naglesmann though, just weird.
You are right I cannot fathom why we haven’t gone all in on JN, even before slot. We wanted him before, has more big club experience now and is still young. I’d love for someone to ask Levy why the club never went for poch and deem a bunch of lesser managers morecombe higher than JN.

He'd had decent experience coaching under one of the best coaches in the world for a few years, but yeah - no managerial record, and it was certainly a gamble. I reckon he was about 1 or 2 games away from the sack at the start of the 21/22 season... but he's come good.

I'd certainly take Enrique but not Rodgers or Potter. Enrique plays good football and his only real weakness seems to be scoring goals (as Spain manager) but Spain have really lacked top strikers for a whole.

Maybe Ange will make the step up. I do appreciate he has improved every side he's worked with - winning titles with unfancied teams. But I don't think Spurs can take a gamble on him right now, there is too much at stake if we fall out of regular European places.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the links to us were just his agent putting his name out there to get him a PL job. I just don’t believe we are in for him. Seems far too big a risk. But I’m usually wrong, so who knows.

Go and get the guitar didgeridoo.

Its possible. This is not the level we should be plucking our managers from. At least someone who has managed in a decent league. Even Nuno just left and won the Saudi league in his first attempt. We might as well be looking at Richie Wellens...Richie Wellens who? Twice winner of League two with Swindon and Leyton Orient and 43 years old , not almost 60.
Getting JN is making a statement and he would be talked about in similar terms to his peers like kloop, arteta, DZ and so on. Not sure Ange has the same stature or profile. With JN we would automatically be considered for top 4. Which I think would also be mental thing and perception that we are serious. I think his appointment would really have an uplifting effect on the players and fans. As when we were first linked with him after BM sack many on here couldn’t believe our luck. Just he offers the exact dynamism and profile we need. No disrespect to Ange also I’m sure he’d want to do better in CL this season.

My significant concern with Postecoglou is that the SPL simply can’t be taken as a realistic lodestar of what to expect. Brenda produced invincibles with Celtic.

It’s nice to hear Ange favours aggressive tactics but there’s a world of difference between doing that in Scotland when you’re in charge of a team that steamrolls everyone and us, with our cart horses that have spent four years being coached to be afraid of the ball.
the thing is, its not just in scottland that he has done it. He turned a shambolic Brisbane Roar team into the greatest A-league team ever going on a 36 game unbeaten run and gaining the monica Roarcelona.
he then took over the Aus NT and won the Asian cup which is not easy. he them went to Japan which is a very high quality league and won the jleague in his second year with a very low budget team that hadnt won anything for 15 years. the point is where ever he goes he steps up and improves everything and everyone around him. What makes you think that he cant step up another level in the PL?

It's more lazy boring narrative.

It took Gerrard nine attempts to win a trophy at Rangers and that was against arguably the worst Celtic team ever and since then Ange has won every single trophy bar one. Whilst Gerrard ran off to the Prem and got sacked.

Gerrard was handed the Rangers job because of his name. Who he is. Ange was given the Celtic job because he had done brilliant at every single club he'd been at prior. He worked for it and has succeed.
Why are you so intent on bs king Ange and bigging him up? Was Ange even in the picture when we sacked conte? His only on the frane now bcos of levy snd the boards cock ups. Saying it again if his so good why has no club in the PL ( even championship) or any club from Europe not home after him?

So?

We should pass up a manager who fits the bill because those 3 didn't go for him? You expect him to leave Celtic, mid way through their season, to go to one of those 3?

Are you joking?

Allegedly he was Brighton's first choice, but they brought De Zerbi in when they failed to get him.

Would that at least make you pause to think that maybe he's got the chops?
So what I’m saying is that if his realkybthat hood why isn’t there a queue of clubs after him. Ffs even bar fuses would after him replacing Howe if they thought he was that good. I’m just concerned people are now bigging him up bcos we haven’t got poch, slot or any one else in their bracket.

He’s the type of punt a mid-table club make because it’s worth the risk, but no top club (other than us) would do it because they can attract more proven options.

Really that simple. This would be a move of desperation. The desperation might work, but it’s still fucking desperate. He’s 5 years older than Guardiola is NOW and Scotland is the highest level he’s ever worked at.

It’s a Jesse Marsch level appointment.
Exactly tell lonman24.
