We aren't a top 6 club at the moment and certainly haven't acted like one for some time now, if the manager has ambition but the board don't, it's going to end like all the rest. MJ had ambition remember when he wanted a quality 4th striker and Levy pulled Rasiak out of his arse in the last moments of the window? Conte was the last hope I had of getting the board to see sense and match his ambition but the board even messed him around.
Perhaps but he wont get a bigger gig than us. The rest i agree on, all the time the owners/board/Levy are here whoever comes in will have to accept certain limitations which is why we struggle to appoint anyone for anything more than short term, 12 to 18 month stints these days

12 points from 23 matches. Dean Smith got 9 points from 8 matches....but, hey, let's blame the guy that ended up holding the bag when Rodgers did a runner!

Crazy that you people are claiming a guy with 2 top 4 finishes a decade ago is a legitimate candidate for Spurs. Rodgers is the definition of mediocrity.
Why are we talking about Brendan? He should be nowhere near the top of the list.

Really?

Liverpool before Rodgers: 2nd, 7th, 6th, 8th
Liverpool with Rodgers: 4th, 2nd, 7th, 6th
Liverpool after Rodger: 4th, 4th, 2nd, 1st

Leicester before Rodgers: 1st, 12th, 9th, 9th
Leicester with Rodgers: 5th, 5th, 8th, 7 defeats in 10 matches
Leicester after Rodgers: Relegated.

His Swansea PL stint, 1 year, wasn't long enough to matter, and I count no one's time at Celtic as meaningful.
To be fair to Rodgers, he was a Gerrard slip away from winning the league with Liverpool.

Don't make this about the fans.

The last Spurs manager to survive a full season in which they finished any lower than 5th was Glenn Hoddle in 2002-03. He lasted 6 games the next season.

It has been five full years without a manager starting and finishing the season.

The little Napoleon panics and starts assigning blame to everyone but himself at the first sign of trouble every. single. time.
This is NotThatTedHughes NotThatTedHughes

He'll point the finger of blame at anyone and everyone apart from the real menace we all know is responsible. He's not alone on here unfortunately.

It's sad to see :(

If Spurs are looking for a head-coach with big balls....then Gallardo is the man

As mentioned, Brighton were after him when Potter left.

But they make horrible decisions up and down the board, as we know. So we probably shouldn't listen to what they do.

Btw, I first mentioned Ange in March, a few weeks before Conte was even sacked. Said it would be a gamble. And then said how I liked him 2 weeks after he was sacked.

But then the Nagelsmann stuff happened and I like de Zerbi. So they were always my choices. As time went on, it's looked increasingly unlikely de Zerbi would be possible and Nagelsmann seems to be a typical Levy screw up. So Ange was always on my mind.
Not questioning you, your logic or knowledge but how do we know ange was actually considered? Just because a hack asked him about the rumours and he responded saying he’s not interested doesn’t mean Brighton were interested. It’s the same hacks making up all the B/S about us, they don’t have a clue what to write and want clickbait

So are there clubs still not finished this season who might have our potential new DOF currently employed? I was convinced today would be the announcement, I always thought it would. In my mind we announce the new DOF then shortly after the DOF announces the new coach, or maybe they are announced together.

It's a joke now to be honest.

There is due diligence and then there is complete incompetence.

Unless there is a rabbit out of the hat moment that none of us are aware of I can't see this being anything but another disaster.

Daniel Levy and his one man ego show is the reason behind all of this imo.

Surely with the time already taken and time running out fir someone to come in and review existing players, loan players and potential new targets why not just give to JN and give him DOF he wants. No one else wants it abd there is no DOF on the horizon. How can level and the board not see this? Further the new manager would need to start working on the philosophy, training schedule, etc. he will need time for all this along with a DOF. We are gonna miss out on good players and be left with our existing dead wood.
