That got me thinking...

Have we actually approached anyone directly? A "We want you to be our next manager" type approach?
Probably but no one knows for sure by the high ups at the club.
The question is, if not, why the fuck not?
They didn't sack Conte because of his outburst at Southampton. It might have been a little OTT, but that in isolation is not a red button moment. They must have been thinking about sacking him, or replacing him after his contract runs out on Wednesday...........

ooooooh. I get it.
Daniel Greedy is just waiting for the 01/06 expiration of Conte's £17m a year contract to run out to make his move.

Leeds won 11 games after Bielsa was sacked in February 2022.
11 games from 50 overall.
Under Marsch this season, they won 4 from 20.
He was a clown. He won't be taken seriously in the PL. He had no respect from the players, the fans, the media. If you'd seriously take him over Rodgers, then I think you might need some form of counselling.

Leicester have Maddison, Barnes, Ndidi, Tielemans, Tete, Castagne, Justin,... and got relegated.

Rodgers is a busted flush.

With unemployed candidates, we can of course make direct approaches. Whether we have is , as you say, a whole different matter.

With employed candidates, I'd imagine we deal with agents first , to avoid the risk of tapping up charges.

Given Bayern sacked (in every meaningful sense of the word) Nagelsmann but are still paying his salary & demanding substantial compensation, there may be some legal reason for not making "direct" contact.

Alternately, his agent may have said: "no point talking until you have a DoF with real power over recruitment & a meaningful 'project'".

Or we simply don't know what we're doing....

I wanted Rodgers in 2012 instead of AVB. I wasnt even against the idea after Poch got sacked but he feels like yesterdays man. I dont think he's terrible but it would be the most underwhelming, dispiriting appointment of the realistic candidates. In an ideal world i want the appointment to be like the 2012 Rodgers or the 2014 Poch, someone new with fresh ideas.

Surely with the time already taken and time running out fir someone to come in and review existing players, loan players and potential new targets why not just give to JN and give him DOF he wants. No one else wants it abd there is no DOF on the horizon. How can level and the board not see this? Further the new manager would need to start working on the philosophy, training schedule, etc. he will need time for all this along with a DOF. We are gonna miss out on good players and be left with our existing dead wood.
Probably because a)Levy wants to lower expectations among the fans and b)employ a yes man who'll tow the ENIC line.

Especially after he's previous appointments raised expectations but ultimately exposed him as the fraud that he is.

Ryan Mason ticks both the above boxes.

The longer this drags out, the more I see it happening

Imagine taking 66 days (let's face it, it's going to be at least 2 more weeks as well) to come up with an identity for this club, do your due diligence on coaches and DOF's, then reach the conclusion that the best man for the job is Brendan Rodgers who just got Leicester relegated.

By that logic, we have to put top 4 on Nono's CV
No, that is not the same logic at all. How do not understand that?

Rodgers got 12 points from 23 matches and managed Leicester into April. His replacement got 9 points from 8 matches. Rodgers was 100% to blame for Leicester's relegation, he's the one that dug the hole they could not escape from. Rodgers managed 76% of Leicester's season, and they were relegated despite better form in that 24%.

Nuno got 15 points from 10, hardly top 4 form. Nuno managed 26% of the season, and it took a significant increase in form over the remaining 74% for us to secure top 4.

This really isn't very hard.

If we employ Mason and sell Kane I can see us lurking about near the bottom of the table, I don't think even Levy wants that to occur.

Don’t care about Rodgers. - He shouldn’t be our next manager but wanted to point out the typical Levybot twisting of facts here.

1. Rodgers had 26 points from 28 games in total. Still horrible so not sure why the Levybot feels the need exaggerate by picking Rodger’s worst run of games and saying 12 from 23. I guess it’s just following it’s computer code/programming. It doesn’t do the same for Smith of course - whose worst run of games got him 2 points from 4.

2. GGraham and Starks both state they don’t want Rodgers as our manager but that doesn’t stop the Levybot from stating otherwise. This one’s a little obvious - I think the Levybot version Memphis programming needs a bit of an upgrade here.

Another one going ignore for me. Putting all the Levybots on ignore.
Sad that some of you hate Levy more than you support Spurs and have to try and twist everything into a discussion of Levy. Time to change your username, I believe.

We are really going to feel the burn of our stupid decision making and non-planning when other teams start snapping up players in the coming weeks and we'll still be looking for basic staff.

Crazy and unforgivable.

Celtic fan in peace.

Apologies, I couldn't help myself. Also I have alot of Spurs fan friends from London, so whilst not "worried" about your beautiful club taking our wonderful manager, I thought it apt to weigh in with a perspective.

Ange is NOT for you.

He knows it. We know it.

I'm pretty sure you guys know it.

And yes, Im fully expecting all the "wee club / backwater" pish that usually drips out of EPL fans, but I'd like to think Spurs fans are different, and if not, at least aware of their current circumstances.

Ange is not for you for the primary reason of TIME.
He won't get any.

Ange Postecoglous style of football, whilst not an anomaly to the EPL, is extremely specific. Currently, you do not have the players to perform for him. Including , but not limited to, your FB positions, wingers, and centre Mids. Ironically, your CB positions wouldn't bother him. (Thanks for CCV btw, literally the best CB we've had since VVD, and that's not an exaggeration, he's an absolute wall.).

If I may also say, your players don't have the requisite attitude to play for him.
He's a hard ass. Nothing less than 100% sees a player dropped and there's NEVER a complaint from Celtic players. They know the demands They know his mantra. They know his resolve. He demands absolute obedience to his "philosophy" and any notion of disharmony to his footballing ideals is usually met with the subs bench.
Forgive me for saying, but the current players at Tottenham don't exactly exude obedience, or indeed acquiescence to leadership.

Frankly speaking, Ange Postecoglou would need 8 months and a budget of at least 100m.

He's worked absolute wonders with us with a budget of under 40 in two windows. But that's because he knows the market he's shopping in.

With Spurs, you'd need at least DOUBLE that in ONE window, to at least give the Spurs fans some faith. Some proof of his ideas and to see the fruits of his labours.

The EPL is ruthless.

Now, on to the unfortunate truth.

At this moment in time, another Celtic manager is absolutely PERFECT for you.

Yep. Dickhead Rodgers.

And yes, he's a MASSIVE dickhead.

But what he also is, is one of the finest man managers in European football. He can take a squad on its knees and have it playing a great brand of football that blows oppositions away. He gives belief and purpose to players.

What he can't do is sign a fucking player to save his life.
He comes with baggage.

An entourage of halfwits who don't have a FUCKING CLUE what a player looks like.

I'm sure I don't need to go into specifics, as history reads itself quite well.

EVERY team he's managed have a two year "glory" period.
Then.. it's all downhill. He signs shite, keeps playing the shite, and then ends up defending or attacking same shite.

Make no mistake, he CANNOT be allowed to sign players.
A DoF who has the balls to tell him to stfu is essential.

It's literally why he jumped ship from us. The club let him sign nearly 15m worth of pish (real money in our "backwater") and decided to sign players that scouts recommended instead.
He's on record complaining about it.",I don't need anymore wingers" etc etc.

But, I digress.

Ange is not for you.

Rodgers is, but for two seasons MAX.

Then find a manager with an actual fucking plan to bring your club to where it should be.

A European FORCE.

Ta ta and goodbye.

Good luck to yas. Always had a wee soft spot.

Now fuck away off away from Big Ange ☺️
