Players that we have that suit Luis Enrique:

Porro
Gil
Udogie
Romero
Bentancur (Busquets job)
Bissouma
Lo Celso
Kulusevski (Olmo job)
Kane

Players he might want:
Laporte
Torres
Olmo
Unai Simon
Rob Sanchez

Players I have no clue if would work:
Son
Skipp
Emerson
Spence
Reguillon

Maybe not the complete change in style of recruitment that we would do under Nagelsmann or one of the Diet Pep CFG style guys but not a million miles away.

They'd have to, to tempt me out of retirement!

Oh, that's not working for various ITV geezers.....

I have no idea what Levy's intention is with Kane.

But unlike so much of the nitty-gritty squad management, that isn't, shouldn't be, and can't be the manager's call.

That's a Levy decision. It's a Joe Lewis decision, really. That is a club grand strategy-level question.

Eh I would disagree to some degree. What we need more than anything is a matchup of manager and players. We need to commit to the manager and his playstyle and recruit players for the first team accordingly. We need to get whatever players the manager wants and not get any that they don't want. Anything else is more of what we've been doing.

I understand that, but what every manager who isn't an idiot will want is Kane long term.

Unfortunately, that is now out of our hands. Deciding what we are going to do about that situation is not the purview of an outside manager who doesn't currently even have the job.

If selling Kane is the right decision, then hiring a manager willing to work with the money rather than Kane is also the right decision.

German season just finished at the weekend, wonder if that leaves Nagelsmann free to talk to clubs now. Not sure how long his gardening leave is, assuming until end of the season?
Remember when Spurs oddly went out of their way to tell the world 'we have not spoken to Nagelsmann' and Alistair Gold and few Twitter excitable types started banging on about wanting to not look rejected? I was told we went public because the gardening leave clause in Nagelsmann contract means he can't directly negotiate until seasons end. That it was financially punitive if a club breached it. Big I've lost the will to live so don't know what to believe. So I'm sticking with

Yeah that’s what I’ve guesstimated is going on. The silence, fact he hasn’t moved anywhere and lack of news on a DoF just smells of that. Or they just don’t know what the fuck they are doing and have gone into hiding. Could well be either knowing us.

Against my better judgment I must confess that makes pretty decent sense.
