......."I'm full of shit!". ...... . :chicco:

Was talking to my mate who used to work at Spurs. Says that Rodgers has pissed off DL in the past — didn’t say how — and he would bet against this appointment.

Had a beer with his agent today.
I’m pretty sure it isn’t his intent
Levy’s held him back once. I don’t think he will do it again.

Spoke to an old friend from Uni. He’s a die-hard Celtic fanthe son of their ex-chairman — who never misses a game. This was his take on Ange and Rodgers:

Completely out of Europe and with many question marks about the club's future, I would not be shocked if we see much the same side as we've been watching in recent weeks.

Levy won't be about to open the purse for big transfers. His pattern since sacking Poch has been trying to find someone who can get more out of the players already here.
I must have missed the part where we spent 180+ million over the past couple of transfer windows.

Get out from under the rock you've been hiding since 2018, will you? We spend. We just don't spend well.

Reportedly seeking the kind of superclub project that Levy's Spurs never will be and wisely seem to have stopped promising. Even Chelsea balked at his demands.

Theoretically as far away tactically from our existing squad as any candidate.

Doesn't speak English from what I can find on Youtube.

It's hard to see what the fit would be.

Much less of that concern on a number of levels with Nagelsmann.
His English is excellent. He can coach players and play them in a system that suits. Sign 3 or 4 good players and we will be miles better. I’d rather have him than any of the others apart from
Nagelsmann

It appears we are now at the point of reaching for new managers, with no one obvious candidate who fits.
At this point I favour Ryan Mason to take the reins.
I wouldn't have chosen Ryan as my ideal candidate, yet here we are.
We are out of Europe, so the immediate need is to rebuild the squad in the "Tottenham" mould.
Mason is Spurs through and through and would undoubtedly blood youngsters who are willing to fight for the badge. The Leeds match, perhaps through necessity, kinda showed that this might be the way forward.
Don't get me wrong, we still need some experienced proven signings to immediately replace the deadwood, but I feel a move to more youthful, passionate core of players is exactly what is required.

Oddly, a good friend of mine (an old Gooner from the arse end of Islington) is the father of a pro footballer who came through our academy with Kane, Winks, etc. Although his son is plying his trade elsewhere, he still has loads of friends and contacts at the club from being a "Spurs Dad".
As soon as Conte was sacked he immediately said that Mason should get the job. I didn't really get why (I'm wanting Naglesmann or Slott) and thought he was having a p*ss take, but apparently Mason has been hugely impressive in the background, with an obvious vision for the club that wasn't being grasped by recent managerial appointments. Who knows!
