ENIC In or ENIC Out

Call me old fashioned but I prefer not to beat myself up and bash my own club over a hypothetical event that hasn't happened yet, listen you may well be right but I've been following football so long to know that nothing is guaranteed and I find it a little premature to expect that a team who just jumped into the top 4 because of other team's failings will just continue to improve without any down moments.
We are not miles apart I think they are top 4 contenders now , not guaranteed top 4 finishers . The sad bit is I can’t see us as top 4 contenders for a number of years and it will need new owners . The nicest thing I could say at a real stretch Ref ENIC is they are stale , devoid of ideas and strategy

Here's the thing with Levy, he's fucked a lot of things up and he's bottled it big time when the opportunity has been there to push the boat out and win.

He's also unlikely to change and even if we get close to winning again, he will probably be too scared to gamble on it again because his nature is that way.

He doesn't rate trophies as much as consistent Top 4 because he doesn't understand glory or the emotion of fans when it comes to winning things.

But to believe he has the mal-intent that some do is just unrealistic. He would like to win and built great infrastructure for the club. He's taken a good salary out of the club but they haven't asset-stripped the club or crippled it for their own benefit. He doesn't deserve the hatred he gets.

A lot of it comes from the state of English football IMO. We have a closed shop of Oil Money with nation-state ownership, or the legacy premier league clubs from the start of Sky Sports getting involved.

Anyone that dares to challenge is great for the premier league until they actually get close to challenging them and then suddenly you are the laughing stock for trying and failing.

It's frustrating to be personally invested in something and then get close but the owners didn't quite go hard enough, especially when you see what the owners of our worst rivals are about to do this summer since they have an opportunity to go hard at winning.

I fully understand the ENIC/Levy out movement and I'd be happy to see a change BUT to personally hate Levy is misdirected and misguided.
Is it though...
I believe Levy thinks hes doing what's best for Tottenham Hotspur.
Trouble is hes always been the same, penny pinching rather than getting deals over the line, not doing his homework and getting a decent scouting system in, with proper football people who know what there doing, countless attempts to hoodwink the fan base, charging ridiculous expensive season tickets for dull as dishwater football, 23 years one trophy. Winning cups-leagues is hardly the top of Levys priorities.
The fans are in it for the glory, we're not in it for revenue streams, beyonce gigs, go karts or American football.
So I believe Levy deserves all the hate that comes his way. Tottenham Hotspur football club should be the priority they plainly are not.

I find it hard to give a regime built of money laundering and sports washing any credit but that's just me.

All regime's are built on money laundering, at least partly.

If your issue with Saudi/Qatari ownership is about abuse of power, then you need to do a bit more work on how power works or you risk being a massive hypocrite.

My issue is if any country should be using state money and power to buy a football club. That's what National Teams are for.

It's a joke that the premier league allowed it and we are seeing the consequences now with City winning every year. What was once the best league in the world, is dying more every season.

As for Spurs, if the premier league allows it then who am I to judge? It would just be good to see this club win. If the only way to do that now is by being owned by a wealthy nation-state, then let's fuck on with it.

Yeah they are going to be up there no doubt but I don't know they've had a massive helping hand this season, might be a little premature to think they will stay up there at this moment in time personally.

I agree with you on pretty much everything.

BUT

If we both believe he's doing what he thinks is best for the club it doesn't make him worth the hate he gets.

It makes him incompetent and the wrong person to lead the football club. Also makes him fucking frustrating and in the current climate of English football, that makes it even harder to keep bothering.

I don't actually have an issue with that per se, I have an issue people blowing smoke up their arse as if it's a miracle what they've done at the expense of our club, that's right a club who hasn't actually cheated their way into the top 4 and ran themselves sustainably but somehow that's frowned upon, what a strange world we live in.

That's cool mr chairman 👍

Football club is rotting away whilst you are bopping with Bey
I also think Ryan has a point, tbf.

When everything you've built off the back of a football club is thriving and succeeding expectations, while the football club you used to get there remains managerless, trophyless, and the crumbling, bumbling banter club of English football.....

It's not really a great look. Is it.

The word 'Leech' springs to mind

Agree.

But also don't allow that to excuse Levy for bottling it when we had a chance under Poch and again last summer when we had momentum under Conte.

Football isn't about only being a sustainable business. You want to win, you need to pay the price.

Yeah I don't think anyone would excuse that, we absolutely fucked up with Poch, not sure about the Conte thing but we've done that to death... ;)

I'm going on history and evidence - even someone as thick skinned as Levy must see the games up. Next season is going to be toxic and I think change is coming.
As for the hate as long as it's not death threats or physical attacks against Levy and his family then its fine. He needs to see the error of his ways and either leave or put the football team first

Nah, bloke's taking us all for a ride now.
Greedy bastards that are looking to squeeze us for every penny when it comes to our support of Spurs.

No DOF, no manager/head coach, no clue.

Death threats or going to his home? Nah, but pretty much everything else is fair game.

Until they go we'll continue to be a joke.

:levystare:
You think this man can see the game is up?
He'll wait another 20 years for FFP to mean anything if he has to.

No and his arrogance and contempt for the fan base will be his undoing and some nutter will find him and endeavour to persuade him. Maybe the team will be so bad next season that he decides it's not worth the hassle
The only way to extract the leeches is to starve them of the blood they crave.
Knock a few billion off the value of the club, or threaten them with it.
