Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don’t think Kane will leave this summer. Levy knows we fans would go mental if he was sold after the shite season we’ve endured. So Levy would demand a mega fee to justify it. At the same time I can only see Man Utd bidding on Kane, so no bidding war, no deal to be done at Levy’s valuation.
Also I think it makes sense for Kane to stay for another season and see whether things have improved under our new manager or be a free agent and choose from a wider number of top clubs.

I don't think he's willing to leave the Premier league without beating that record. If he could of done it next season I personally don't think he'd hesitate to go to real or bayern or the like.
yeah, that record is important to him. He could achieve it in the next 2 seasons (with ave 23.5 goals in each), maybe with a deeper position played it takes him into a 3rd season. But 48 goals required to beat Shearer does look possible now barring any major injury. Even if he were to drop off a cliff performance-wise and end up at Bournemouth.

I think the Club are probably preparing for him to leave on a free when his contract expires, he cost us nothing so leaves for nothing, is not as bad as some would paint it to be. I do think we would offer him a mega deal to stay though, one that he would find hard to turn down. I'm talking +£330k pw. He may not get that offered to him by other clubs as he would be heading towards his 32nd birthday then.

surely hed want to extend it as much as he can too. i dont think hell ever leave the prem while hes physically able to play in it. maybe when hes 38 hell go to a shit league in another continent for big money.

he could finish up with 350 prem goals....that should hold steady for a long, long time. haaland isnt hanging about more than 3-4 years.

non english players are always attracted to the allure of the spanish giants and culture. so the prem goal record is kind of protected. its going to take an englishman playing for his boyhood club like kane/shearer etc.

When you look at the levels he helped to propel the club to you can't argue he hasn't earned the club money over the last 10 years. I also agree that we would probably match wage wise what he's offered elsewhere but I don't think it's about that for him.

I wonder if we have tried incorporating a release clause into any extension talks? If he extends for 3-4 seasons but then we throw like a 50m release clause next summer in case things are going poorly. I feel like that’s a fair way to have him give us a chance but still giving him an out and avoid having him walk for free.

I feel like levy would not offer that even though it’s clearly better than not extending him.

Part of me wouldnt be surprised if Levy and Lewis leave next summer when Kane goes.

They know they’ll have to invest well over £150m to replace him, and if they’re willing to let him go on a free them that has to come out of their pockets, not fees received.
Interesting theory — although the financial cost to replace a top end striker (if you can convince one to come) is no more than one year’s profit. Of course, no guarantees that they’ll perform close to Harry’s level.

It's the same scenario as berbatov, bale,Carrick,Erikesen
Whether you like it or not, there’s a hierarchy in football.
A player like Bale — generational — was always going to move to the top tier as he outgrew us just as he moved to us after he outgrew Southampton. Modric the same. When Berba and Carrick left, they moved to the highest echelon (at that time) of our domestic game just as they both had come from lesser clubs.
We’re not in the elite club level — even if we’re 9th richest — we’re in the Dortmund, Athletico tier in a more competitive league.

No, your right money isn't probably the motivation BUT he is now earning approx £100k pw less than king bottler Saka who's 21!!!

The only reason he will leave for another PL club is to maintain the chance to beat Shearer's record and win a trophy. That being the case there is only ONE Club that can guarantee him a trophy and that's City.

At 32 next summer, I do not see City coming in for him. Utd look shite to me, not the big revolution that Ten Haag is getting the credit for. I hope we can get our shit together next season, if we can then I don't see a huge difference between us and them.

I do think the other big draw that hasn't been spoken about much is Champions Legaue, for him that's got to sting not playing in it.

A bigger reason we have not won any trophies is that in the bigger games kane has continually failed to put in a match winning performance.

Our CL route to the final was largely in part achieved due to the fact he wasn’t playing. The final he did fuck all.
I hope Kane goes. I want to see a new generation a new style of play with fast hungry players. What's everyone worried about?

Well to not even be in europa at his level is a travesty. At 32 it depends because it could well be the case that if city do the treble this year haaland could agitate for a move away by the end of next season and pep absolutely loves kane as a player and would still take him in a heartbeat but that really all depends on haaland. United do need to strengthen particularly in cm but I think they will try to do that and if they secured rice then neymar and mount I think that's a big statement to atleast say we mean business and we want you to be the man to fire us where we want to be. I think it's an ambition matching thing as much as a just going for trophies thing. It's the desire from the club to be the best they can be that he also craves.

He's 31 next summer not 32.
