Status drift. Other clubs starting to do business and we remain stuck in the quicksand.

Beyond fcuking belief, even if you just try and detach yourself.

4 years ago today we were gearing ourselves up for a CL final.

Astonishing.

And the weather is a joke. Doubt I have seen so many people looking so cold on June 1st as today.
I'm glad it's not just me that noticed this.

This is one of my reservations about the notion of jumping straight into people like De Zerbi, Slot (all of whom I really like as coaches and play a brand of football I want ultimately) and why I've suggested people like Potter and Nagelsmann might make more sensible evolutionary sense.

This squad we've got could get absolutely murdered by the brutal methodology that I'd ultimately like to see eventually. It could get really ugly, like third season Bielsa scary.

I'm sure Levy's "due diligence" covered coaching methodology and deep dives into career trajectories, including the good and bad times at each club.

After all, that's why he's the highest paid Chairman in the world.

No way it's as simple as just doing what his mate Frank from Base agency told him to do. That's just being cynical.

Good point, but pretty sure they were 8th when he took over not bottom and he still only won 6 and lost 8 in 17 games.

Melbourne was decent but Muscat has done even better and International Football is so different than Domestic, that I don't even consider it (same goes for Enrique, who I also have concerns about).
Why even talking about these matches? I’m what way dies that have any reflection on working in the epl? Has it gone to this that people are clutching at anything to justify Ange appointment?

He let paratici convince him to get Nuno then give stellini the job!

My Concern with Postecoglu is in the 3 jobs he has had that are considered a success (Brisbane, Yokohama and Celtic), in 2 of those, his results were dreadful in his first season.

Brisbane - The team he took over finished the previous season 3rd. In Ange's first season, they finished 9th (out of 11) and lost more games than they won.

Yokohama - The team he took over finished the previous season 5th. In Ange's first season, they finished 12th (out of 18) and lost more games than they won.

The last time we lost more games than we won, was the season we had 2 points from the first 8 games.

He starts the first season like that with us and he doesn't last the season.

Edit: He also had a poor 3rd season at Yokohama (again losing more than he won) so he was literally a 1 season wonder there. Kevin Muscat has done a better job replacing Ange at Yokohoma, He also replaced Ange at Melbourne and did a better job there too.

Fucking hell, if he struggled with those teams he’s not going to have a chance in the most competitive league in Europe in charge of us. It’s an utterly pointless appointment if that’s what happens with his teams. He’ll be out by the Spring if not before.

Under that logic, why would Brighton get De Zerbi? A 35% win percentage.

Is it happening or not? Probably announce a contract extension after the cup final knowing us, just as I’ve come round to the idea of him managing us.

I meant it in terms of him walking into a club with a highly toxic atmosphere. Unfortunately for the guy, unless he has a good start, he’ll be crucified by fans and the press. De Zerbi didn’t have that at Brighton and the level of expectation is nowhere near the same as to what Postecoglou is walking into. If he doesn’t win his opening home games he’ll be on a hiding to nothing. It won’t be his fault but that’s what will happen.
