Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

His time at Espanyol was minimal. He left for the Argentina job two months into the season.
So, he didn’t really manage a European club until he was 56. Argentina isn’t Australia but managing a club side isn’t a different proposition altogether according to the pundits here.
He did enough to get recognised and offered the job in a top European League. That was more the point. And then a top, top international team.

There comes a point where things might have to get worse to get better.

Like having a debilitating injury, that requires a pretty serious op and long recovery. At the end of it, you'd be better off if you can get through thre hard bit.

We're putting off the op and just about getting by at the moment.
agree. That’s why I was an advocate of relegation to really clear the decks. We have more than enough financial resilience to bounce straight back and it would surely see Lewis’s daughter oust Levy and employ a fit and proper CEO and also sack the long self serving echo chamber of Cullen et al.

I also think a season rucking with Millwall, Cardiff etc should see off the day trippers and Koreans so match day would be much more authentic and hopefully these tossers would drift down the Thames to Fulham’s new selfie spot

Would almost certainly achieve four things:
- Championship (trophy)
- Shit players gone
- Cunt faux fans gone
- Most importantly, change of leadership with Levy, Cullen etc GONE

Who knows. As Mason says we need a plan and we need to stick to it. Maybe Ange is just what we need. What is for sure is having the fans not getting behind him is not going to help anyone.
I think the media will dismiss Ange as a poor appointment and influence a lot of the fan base….. he will need a quick start to win fans over, and this is often tricky as we don’t sell / buy until the end of the window unlike say Liverpool and City who get their work done early and have a settled pre season

I think he’s a better appointment for us than Nagelsman, Enrique, Rodger’s, Potter, any Portuguese dullard etc but needs support from the start or he could be out after 10 games

If somehow it does come to pass and Ange becomes our manager, Levy would be an absolute imbecile to not give him what he wants and needs.
Then again no difference to the previous gentlemen who were pissing into the wind with Levy at the helm.
Ange might be a bit more realistic with his asks, rather than demanding 80M Bastoni so it could work. Will still require Levy to pay asking prices and move quickly rather than glean an extra 2% discount or stagger payments in an unreasonable structure

I agree with all that except the trophy, we'd get promoted in second place because we are Spurs

The Celtic fans and assorted Aussies here have done such a good job on selling Ange. I'm now over the moon that we'll have the best manager on the planet come Monday.

Which will be the day that he'll sign that contract extension.

:harrylol:

I recall a Southampton poster who came on here before we got Poch in being similarly glowing about him when many of us (myself included) had no confidence at all. That didn’t turn out too badly.
Maybe all the Celtic fans coming on here aren’t trying to pimp Ange to us and he is actually the real deal?
I’d never heard of him before he tipped up in Scotland but I’d not heard of Poch either before he went to Saints. That says more about my lack of global football knowledge than anything else so if he’s the man then I’m happy to take on board the views of people who have seen his work.
