Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Feels more like when we appointed Christian Gross. I’m not saying the person or their football is similar but the situation is. Appointing a manager out of a smaller league who has won the league there that nobody had heard of before and hadn’t achieved anything of note in his career apart from in that league. It was was left field and strange as an appointment as this. I don’t want him to fail but hopefully like how that contributed to the end of Sugar, this contributes to the end of ENIC.
Is it fuck like Christian gross.

agree. That’s why I was an advocate of relegation to really clear the decks.

There are some blinkered souls out there who refuse to believe this is a way of thinking.

Seems a tad extreme to me but have seen and heard people say it.

A bridge too far for you guys??

Who knows. As Mason says we need a plan and we need to stick to it. Maybe Ange is just what we need. What is for sure is having the fans not getting behind him is not going to help anyone.

Agree, Mason and even Kane were quite candid about what has gone wrong when they spoke towards the end of the season. The culture and identity of the club that was built under Poch has been destroyed by bad football decisions over the last four years. Being a Tottenham player under him meant you had to be hungry and play with great energy. You had to be brave on the ball. You had to be a top athlete.

Now our shirt doesn’t mean anything. In recent years we have seen unfit slobs, lazy trainers, wimps and players who don’t really care wearing our shirt. We have to start from zero and re-establish what it means to wear the shirt. I don’t know if Ange can deliver that but I’m sure he will understand the assignment. Before we even think about winning we have to create the conditions that will allow us to compete again (even Conte said this). We need a manager who can build up a team from scratch not someone who expects to win immediately, and Ange seems to fit the bill for that.

Why are we posting tweets with 16 likes as if it represents a part of the fanbase worth discussing?

Fans comparing it to Poch on the one hand or Nuno on the other.

I would say Martin Jol is the best compare. Big character, playing attacking football but needing to make a huge step up given the league requirements.

At least this time we are looking at attacking managers. Other than Amirom haven’t been linked much with pragmatists.

My dream:
Postecoglou is appointed, the fanbase goes into Anti-Ange meltdown, he wins us the FA Cup, playing 'Audere Est Facere' football and the fanbase loves him forever.

To be fair, I hoped for something similar with Nuno.

Something never felt right with Nuno, even when we were top after 3 games.

It was his lack of aura. It's like he knew the job was far too big for him and he was just happy to be there and thats what shined through. Came across as a good guy but just didn't have it about him.

Shame because his opening day performance against Man City was one of our best performances that entire season. And the atmosphere that day was red hot.

To get you all to wrap this around you when he does win us the league!
