past 5 yrs have sucked the soul out of me, seeing kane go coupled with average signings this summer has left me deflated

we had the nuno situation, but really only conte was available so i excuse it, this one is worse because there were better managers available and to go 60 odd days to appoint ange. you would have to go as far back as the 90's with gross to feel this level of deflated.

he might be good who knows but kane going and hoping rich takes the mantle, this summer could perhaps be defining on whether we are finish mid table(or worse).


also with this whole Australian tour and munn being buddys this stinks of marketing

We fail for a number of reasons:
We are not your Dad’s Tottenham Hotspur. Certainly not my Dad / Granddad.
They watched championship teams in the fifties and early sixties.
Since then we’ve had relegation and nearly went bust. The only real visionary (Scholar) almost ruined the club with his grand ambition. We had a reluctant owner that missed the massive global expansion and mired us in mediocrity for a decade. Since then we’ve had owners who are happy to profit from the club and not make the investment to really challenge the bigger clubs, which, to do so regularly, would require an extra nine-figure spend every year. In the meantime, oiligarchs have invested in clubs as sports-washing ventures and Tottenham, the area, has little to recommend it unless you’re doing a tour of historic riot spots.

Dies Ange go for data driven recruitment? Afaik he didn’t have a DOF at Celtic and did recruitment himself. How will he work with a DOF. Will he say “club signings”? Will he play youth? Will only look at players from far east?
 
If we're going Aussie, can we get Mr Inbetween as DoF? Should get a few quid out of Levy then.

I know logic isn’t really your thing but do you honestly think a tightwad like Levy is going to risk damaging a multi-billion pound asset for a commercial opportunity in a country of 25 million that calls its national team ‘Socceroos’ and football is probably about as popular as crocodile hunting?

When are people going to realise - Levy will go when Levy wants to go.

ENIC out has existed for years. Whatever he does, he tells himself he's doing it for the best for the club.

I don't agree with some of his decisions.

But I'm not gonna get personal or prickish about the next manager cos it's not his fault. I'm gonna get behind him. I'm going to look for the positives. And try to look forward.

And, whisper it quietly, he might do well!

I agree with the first part of your post, but football is actually very popular here (the highest participation in organised sport). The national federation is a shambles, yes, and the quality of the domestic league leaves a lot to be desired, but leave the nasty cultural potshots out of it.

I wasn’t knocking Australia — love the country — I was knocking anyone who thinks you risk ENIC’s investment for commercial football opportunities there. Sorry if you were offended.
 
Reading through the comments here and what i will say is that some of what people say and think about Ange is so naïve and disrespectful.
you guys think that you are entitled to the biggest names in world football to manage your team (which is fair enough) however, you had that in the egotistical maniacs Morrene and conte, how did that work out for you? im more than certain Levy will have done his DD on Ange and he sees him as the right fit for what you need ATM.
Ange is a different animal than what you have have had in the past, just give him a little time and i guarrantee that he will have you all eating out of the palm of his hand.
