Maybe. They will try and milk the price like Brentford and Leicester are doing for Raya and Maddison though.

Get rid of Dier, bring Aderabiayo in.

Then sell Sanchez and Rodon and bring in a top left sided centre back. And that's our centre back options greatly improved.

Diers def duels won? 5%? 😂 Def actions at 16%?

What a husk of a defender, such a passive retreater

Why not? Bale did.

I think it's unlikely that he'd reach those heady heights, as Bale was far more physically imposing, but he doesn't need to be the next Bale.

He's 22 years of age and still has a lot of learning to do. You don't just discard a talent that young because he hasn't set the World alight in the scant opportunities he's had.

I would like to see a season of him under Ange before even beginning to make an assessment on whether he's plateaued, or if he could indeed "blow up."

Eze is 25 this month, and is only just being seen as "potentially" stepping up a level. There are more than a few who'd like to see him come to us for £50M. Amazing what game time and faith from your manager can do to raise your game.
Agree on the former but not the latter. Eze has shown huge potential for years, should have signed him from QPR

Thats really not a fair comparison, my
Rock On Grandma GIF
would look World Class compared to DIRE ;)
Stats are compared to all CBs in the Prem.

That’s why I’m saying they are legit

If this is the 5.2% duels won that people are quoting for Dier,??

It’s 5.2 percentile, which basically means bottom 6 percent of defenders for duels won. Doesn’t translate to exactly 5.2% won.

Percentile stats miss a LOT of context because the difference between 60th percentile and 30th percentile could be an average of 0.5 per 90mins on average.
Ahh just seen this, makes sense although still lower down than I would have thought

We have to buy a couple of centrebacks as there’s none coming from the academy.
Look at Chelsea, their academy has produced Levi Colwill, Mark Guehi and Tomori all playing well but not at Chelsea. I wonder why we even bother to have an academy, hopefully ,under Ange, we might actually give chances to a few more.Could find some hidden gems.

Still have until the end of next season to activate the clause so no real worry

England youth international Cirkin joined Sunderland from Spurs in the summer of 2021 for an undisclosed fee, but the Londoners inserted a clause into the deal that meant within a certain period of time they could bring the defender back for a set price.

The fee for that potential move is believed to be £6 million.

Spurs have the clause in place until the end of June in 2024.

My point is that he's only now looking like he'll realise that potential. Gil has a lot of potential, but we should bin him off because he hasn't realised it at 22? When, for the first time since he arrived at Spurs, he has a manager that actually encourages wing play, and is prepared to give a talented players the minutes he needs to develop properly?

I'm not saying he'll be World Class, but I think it's asinine to write off a young, talented player, just because he hasn't done it yet. Particularly when you consider that, up until now, he's had managers that would have overlooked him completely, as he wasn't suited to the way they wanted to play.

It really wouldn't surprise me if Ange likes him. He's energetic, hard working and skillful to boot. He has all of the attributes that Ange loves in a player. Hence why I think a season under Ange is necessary to at least see if he could become what we all hope he will.

I think he'll get game time, and I think he'll be given every opportunity to either show that he's developing well, or he's not.

At the moment he's being judged on cameos.
