We've neglected our youth system for a good number of years which for a club like ours who don't go out and sign ready made superstars is fucking criminal, really has annoyed me how we have disregarded it.
It’s been pony since I started supporting us in 67 , so it can’t all be laid at Levy’s door . He did not damage it , there was nothing to damage . However in 23 years he has not rectified it which is poor on his part.

Because it comes off as a player that Levy has offered to his last 2 managers regardless of the styles of football they play.

Some people have very legitimate concerns about him pressing and his injuries. Especially for the money it will take to sign him.

You can live in a world where 2 things can be true.

The club may want to bring him in and the manager could happy to bring him in and I don't see why he wouldn't be taking into account what I mentioned in the previous post, not to mention he's actuslly a quality player.

This is what Ange brings to the table that JN never will: a sense of camaraderie and belonging. JN might be marginally the better coach with the more high profile CV, but Ange is the one the players will run through a brick wall for. I'd take the latter any day.
I'm curious to see if the "run through walls for him" thing holds up with athletes at the Premier League level. In the Scottish League a player would have to adopt that attitude because they don't have as many options. They are probably as high up the ladder as they are going. I don't know at the highest levels that players are going to be that much more productive because the team hired a manager who gives great motivational speeches. By the time a player reaches the Premier League they've heard it all before.

Actually ENIC invested a lot of money into the academy but it's not been utlilsed properly and they have chopped and changed strategies over the last few years. Even Poch didn't like to send players out on loan when they needed to.

Players want motivated. They want to be made to feel invincible when they go on that pitch no matter what level they are at. If players are enjoying their training and games and a manager is giving them opportunity to express themselves and play to their strengths then they will run through walls for the manager, team mates and fans.
That’s what Ange brought to Celtic. Even though they have been the top team for a decade apart from one season there was a different feel to Celtic around the club and that was down to what Ange created.

Decent midfielder. Very good passer of the ball and likes a tackle. Passes forward quickly and when I’ve seen Lyon he is very noticeable which is a good thing.
Have not got a clue how much he’d cost.
Just done a bit of YouTube scouting, he looks good. Wasn't just passing and goals clips, shows plenty of defensive work like you said.

I'm sold on him. Found this article.

Facilities are fine , the 4 most skilful players I have ever seen never benefited from great facilities . They are possibly better for it , if you can play on a field you can be great on anything I would imagine . We are just poor at finding talent 56 years and still rubbish

It could both be true, yes.

It seems that more than a few people have some doubts that they both are true.

Those doubts come from our Chairman’s previous of being a total control freak and the fact that nobody has come in to lead the recruitment yet.

We’ve just not seen enough to know what Sarr really is all about. I think he’s more progressive than skipp but I don’t think he’s got the skill set be one of our attacking midfielders.

He actually was an 8 for Senegal and Metz.

Think he has the ability to be any CM he wants.

Problem is that we aren’t Brighton or Brentford where he will get a chance.

At least we weren’t, maybe with Ange we might be again.

The academy has produced a generational player and many other premier league footballers. Bit harsh.
Our academy situation is natually quite difficult too. We've to compete with a lot of decent first second tier clubs for young players in London and surrounding areas.

Unlike say Newcastle which is a one club city and or even United/City. Palace actually enjoy a similar benefit being the only top flight club deep in South London.

Sounds like a machine,

Is he the 6, or the more defensive 8?

Def doesn’t sound like the creative 8/10 we are meant to be looking for.

That has been the issue though,it’s getting him a run of games where he can show what he can do. He was made a scapegoat against Newcastle but we should’ve gave him a chance when Skipp needed a rest before Biss came back. He might be one of these players that we’ll never know if he doesn’t get game time next season.
