You complain about us not spending more on the football side, yet at the same time deride the commercial moves the club makes which will allow it to spend more on the football side.

You're interested in the player, you talk to his club, are they open to letting him go, if yes what's the price, bit of back and forth with both sides making compromises, you get personal terms agreed, you sign the cheque, pay the player's agent, and boom you got a newbie.
