And I said that we haven't got any form offers so we don't know if Levy wants to much.
As I said, it's pure speculation on your part.
It's speculation that we haven't had any offers.

Yes, but he was also great in the CL, in particular that match vs Bayern where he was MOTM.I think he suits Spain better & it’s where he thrives. All his top seasons have been in Spain, including the one that convinced us to spend shitloads on him.
But if the offer is 15m or less, he’s probably worth just having around.
Like this.
Reminds me a young Vertonghen. Except you know, he's RAPID.
If van der Vet becomes the new Vertonghen, then we'd all want him to stay for the best part of his career. To be the bedrock of our defence for a decade.Yeah, I don't disagree with you on their MO. But if we have the next one lined up already, selling him on for a big profit certainly makes it more palatable. Of course, there's always the chance that the player could stay if he enjoys it here and he's doing well.
The point is, we can't be turning our back on a player that we've identified as being a priority target just because another club wants him, or may want him in the future. Nor should we be put off by whomever his agency is. If he's what we want, get him and worry about the future when it arrives. But hedge that by making sure you have scouted a number of talents that could step into the role should he move on.
In your opinion. The only thing that puts us on any kind of parity with Liverpool is their owners refusal to invest their own money.
They are a higher profile club with a higher profile manager and, even without owner investment, they can spend £100m more than us. They have an excellent recent record of winning things, and can offer some kind of European football. Unless the player is set on living in London or they’re not guaranteeing playing time, it’s a no contest.
It depends on whether we can get enough money for him to get a dependable replacement. Who do you propose is a better midfielder available for 20 million?
Yes, but he was also great in the CL, in particular that match vs Bayern where he was MOTM.
With our squad as it is right now, he probably gets into the first XI at RCM under the 4-3-3 Ange system.
That shows we seriously need to upgrade our midfield... but is also a sign that we shouldn't sell him unless we have a replacement lined up.
Doesn't have to be £20M, but that £20M could go towards a more expensive player that is better than him. Maddison for example. It depends on whether we can get enough money for him to get a dependable replacement. Who do you propose is a better midfielder available for 20 million?
yeah.If you are prepared to pay for it, yes of course you can get talent in.
I'm sure it does, lucky for them.yeah.
kinda helps having an entire nation with endless wealth behind you too.
You do know that Pogba isn't their only client yeah?If van der Vet becomes the new Vertonghen, then we'd all want him to stay for the best part of his career. To be the bedrock of our defence for a decade.
And yes, there's always a chance a player so loves a club that he tells his agent he wants to stay, not move. And ultimately, fires his agent. But that's pretty rare.
With BASE, we seem to have a fairly healthy relationship where deals can be done. With a player whose agency is team Raiola, I think the risk of losing him after a couple of seasons, and not benefitting that much financially, are much higher.
Once the likes of Modric, Berbatov, Bale became elite players, we ended up selling them. But the bulk of the transfer fee came back into the club, and the fact Baldini's Magnificent Seven were largely failures, apart from Eriksen, is down to bad recruitment. The money came into the club, and was poorly spent.
With say Pogba, manure were fleeced financially every which way - transfer fee, agent fees, player signing bonuses etc - and stuck with a moody, oft injured, talented but fickle player. And Raiola was a massive part of the problem.
Lo Celso is better than Tielemans, Xhaka and Jorginho. Certainly in the RCM role we need filled (we have plenty of CDMs).It shouldn't take too much to find a player more reliable than GLC has been for us........
It's a pretty low bar..... Tielemans just went for free.... Xhaka 15m.... Jorginho 12m.
Alex Scott could be depended on to put in a shift; even if he's still developing.....
Kulu is a midfielder in a 433? I am uncertain he has the mobility for that. I think he can play #10 but from what I've read as Ange, he prefers 433 with a CDM, RCM, LCM.
Ndombele stopped giving a shit about football, I'm not sure that can be compared to injury issues of Lo Celso.Ndombele has a couple of tasty CL performances on his CV too.....
Doesn't count for much when these lads are ghosting about or hiding away in the treatment room.
PEH doesn't have the talent or ability. If you prefer; slot on PEH somewhere; he's already proven a reliable contributor.
Fair, but I was hoping we could afford Maddison without selling others.Doesn't have to be £20M, but that £20M could go towards a more expensive player that is better than him. Maddison for example.
Or, we leak that we are going after van der Ven to pressure Leverkusen to agree on a reasonable price for our real target, Tapsoba.Good tactics from "team Raiola".
Leak our interest in van der Ven to Fabrizio Romano & spark a bidding war, both in terms of tranfer fee AND agent fee / player salary with the scousers.
Maddison is going to be a deadline day deal for sure. Not sure who he ends up going to.. Leicester are desperate for cash and the buyers know it.
Certainly in the RCM role we need filled (we have plenty of CDMs).
Alex Scott currently isn't at PL level, but could be in the future, so I'd definitely want us to buy him. But that's a separate issue from finding starters in our midfield now.

Lo Celso is also a lot better at RCM than Skipp is at CDM. Our current best midfield with Bentancur injured is Bissouma Sarr Lo Celso imo.
Ndombele stopped giving a shit about football, I'm not sure that can be compared to injury issues of Lo Celso.
Also Emery has a lot of experience working with him, and is a details orientated man. If he feels that Lo Celso has something to offer in the PL, it's something serious to consider.
Btw I'm not a 'fan' of the guy... I just think it's not smart to sell him for a low price if the alternatives are worse.
