I don't think there is such a thing as leaks. Clubs know through their contacts who is interested in whom. They are not relying on Twitter to get their information.Or, we leak that we are going after van der Ven to pressure Leverkusen to agree on a reasonable price for our real target, Tapsoba.
It’s basically impossible to know from these leaks what’s real and what’s being leaked for strategic leverage reasons. I mean, it’s entirely possible that the Raya leaks were just meant to help our negotiations with Vicario - none of us have any idea.
Let's take the VdV?tapsoba situation. Why would we need to leak anything? We just go to Leverkusen and tell them we want Tapsoba and this is our offer, because we are eyeing another CB that plays in the Bundesliga. We tell them. Leverkusen confirm through their contacts (not Twitter) that we are negotiating with VdV and realize that we have alternatives. I mean, if Romano can find out, I'm pretty sure clubs can too. At that point, and based on what other offers they may have or anticipate for the player and how willing they are to sell him, they decide whether they want to negotiate closer to what we're offering.
Pretty straightforward stuff without even involving Twitter.
