I also always think it's funny when fans talk about player swaps, as if that's a thing that still ever happens. Besides some very rare edge cases, you NEVER see player swaps at this point. But, every silly season, that's what a ton of fans throw out there.

His value as a scapegoat has been immense, not sure what people expected of him tbh he was purchased (on the cheap) as a no frills steady conventional defender and has more than paid his fee back. The marketplace is littered with defenders with much more ability but few will match him for endeavour and effort.

It's still mind-blowing that people still focus on the purchase price of a player rather than the wages. These players are not going anywhere unless the Club pays their contracts up, or they have a "sister club" in the Gulf.
Such vague nonsense, you can make the same case out of any player we sign who isn't World Class.
