Sure. But there shouldn’t be any speculation over whether he may or may not resign. That has to be clarified this Summer and then plans can be acted upon in anger.
The only speculation to date is by media and people like us. Kane will go if the club get an offer too good to turn down IMO. Otherwise he's a Lillywhite for another season.

For all we know, they have a bright, young thing in their radar and they're giving him another year. Maybe they're gambling on him renewing if he actually see's us getting CL again and, God forbid, a trophy?

I understand the nervousness in the fan base, but I've been through this with Hoddle, Waddle, Teddy, Klinnsman, Gazza and many others over the years so, whilst we won't necessarily get a generational talent like Kane in the immediate future, we've always managed to get goal scorers. They may not be as good, but if the system works and others are weighing in with goals, any striker we get would likely be good enough to make up any deficit from losing Kane.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's only your own angst that demands clarification. The club may, or should, already know what the situation is and will act accordingly.

For all we know, they fully intend to sell Kane, but are holding their cards close to their chest to get the best price possible. It's all well and good saying "but he'll go for free at the end of the season, but someone will jump the gun, looking to snap him up rather than take their chances. When was the last time an elite player went on a free? Even Eriksen went for near £20M with just 6 months left on his contract.

Quite possibly he is.

What I'm saying is that you're presupposing here.

How do you know that a different role would take away his natural ability? It might mean that he does the explosive/aggressive stuff out wide less often, but won't necessarily stop that altogether. How do you know he doesn't have a natural ability to step into the other role and nail it? Who's to say he wouldn't be better at it?

Who's to say Ange won't tailor his system to suit that natural ability? He has form for that too.

What you have Shady are valid concerns but, with all due respect, I think you're borrowing trouble. Until he plays, we really have no idea whether he's able to adapt and thrive, or if he'll end up in the transfer list.

To be fair, you could say that for virtually every member of the current squad.

Put it in the let's see category and draw a line under it for now

Not much happening today then lads?.....🤷‍♂️

Oh yeah, I think it would be a fine move for him.

I can't possibly begin to hate the likes of Harry Winks (whose toenails are more Tottenham than we could dream to be) or Eric Dier and so on. Look at those who were screaming for Skippy to be a starter and who now think he's pig shit (I may have exclusively revealed this possibility a couple of years ago).

Winks, Dier, Skippy, Davidson and co are
always welcome round Casa Bill if they're passing. I'm a fine cook, there are excellent wines available, we'd have a great time.
What if I turn up in a Winks top?

The most Richarlison has scored in a league season is 13. Can we skip that he is he is in anyway an adequate replacement for Kane. He also isnt quick or creative. We'd be far better off playing Son as centre forward but we'd need someone else.
He’s a scrapper, does more than score goals but doesn’t do what you want in a footballing side eg hold up, good movement and clever touches for runners. I don’t mind a forward that doesn’t score 25 but he has to have a touch of class a la someone like Kanoute or Berba

Also Richarlsons diving needs nipping in the bud, it’s constant and pathetic. I would sell him for 40M (I don’t believe we’ve paid 60M), and I think he’s worth that for a bottom half side. Good player but not good enough and wrong style for us

Players have agency.
If we would have sold Harry two years ago with three years left on his contract then the fanbase would have been absolutely disgusted. He’s kinda damned if he sells to get the best return and damned if he holds on and the player thinks it’s worth running down his contract.
Kane, unwilling to extend his deal with us and with us out of Europe, has the potential value of next season's CL payout as the best likely scenario if he stays is we finish top 4.

Anything north of £45M and we'd be fools not to accept he's leaving and sell at the highest price we can negotiate, as we'll then be losing money and the player gambling on, what, an FA Cup?

If they'll give us £80M to whisk him away to Germany where we don't have to worry about him anymore, fucking fantastic. Sign on the line and get the cheque in the mail. Because he isn't resigning here, that's clear.

The concern is in the first clause ‘Despite there being hope that Kane stays’.

You cannot run a professional football operation on hope. The club need to bring this to a head and determine what’s best.

It might be that him leaving on a free is the best option. But, if so, start planning for that now.
And it's followed immediately by "have been planning for his departure since last year." So not running on hope.

That’s what I said. Dammed if he does dammed if he does not.

I can suggest that perhaps the way to avoid is to keep the club moving forward, keep it fresh and keep the players committed. Well that’s the way I see it. Appreciate others have other views 👍

Honestly, this post is all over the shop. On one hand you're accusing ENIC of pocketing profits from player transfers (they never have), and in the same post giving them stick for allowing the two most valuable players we've had in the past decade to run their contracts down and leave on a free...and then accusing them of being "greedy" for doing so.

I don't think you really know what you want to say here, but you want to be mad at Levy.
In line with the opinion of F. Scott Fitzgerald, I hold two opposing views.

I recognise that the situation is far from easy and we are not playing championship manager.

Re Levy. No. I am not mad at him. I don’t know him. I know many people who do. They dislike his micro management and generally judge that his attitude can be somewhat dismissive, indeed superior. That being a business led view, I have to recognise that as a person he might be a diamond.

Outside of that I can only judge that he is a superb leader for ENIC, knows land economics better than I ever could and has turned a £20m (ish) investment into many hundreds of millions. He deserves credit for that.
