I always say that stats in football are a trap, this sport is too dynamic and complex to easily collect such complex data.
Always expected to see him in their shirt one day too.... Such typical kind of player for them.
However, IMO the huge difference in their stats suggest that even accounting for statistical fuckery, Maddison is the better player.
