I watch a lot of French league footy, been to Monaco games home and away on a few occasions, follow les Bleus closely too...and I'm sorry but that Fofana kid ain't nothing special. The one thing he is...is overrated.

And no, it's nothing to do with unconscious bias before you play that card again...
Disagree. He’s linked with clubs like Chelsea, PSG and Liverpool. Good player.

Great kid. Played for the same club as Moussa Diaby here in île de France. Can you imagine if we signed both?

We don't necessarily need a PEH replacement; but the additional 25-30m in the trf kitty would be welcome.
Yeah, he's turning 28 soon and he doesn't do anything that several of our other midfielders couldn't do. He's also a very very sellable asset in terms of the money he'd bring in.

Tosin would be a great shout, to be fair, and perhaps more doable if Tapsoba is deemed too expensive an option.

I just don't want *insert good CB here* + Lenglet to be the only defensive acquisitions.

Seems like we have an ordered plan, too. The minute one signing is getting done (and we seem to be reaching agreements quickly) the next one ramps up. Would never have expected us to get Maddison in before July, honestly.
There's an awful lot of people who were adamant that it would drag out, based on previous windows. It seems the club might just be operating in a different way, much as they did last Summer.

I don't think this is the start of the rebuild, I think that stated when we began bringing in young talents like Gil, Sarr, Romero, Bentancur, Kulu etc. This feels like a continuation of that.

I think the difference is that we seem to be shopping a bit smarter.

If course, only time will tell whether that is the case.

Still can't believe we've managed to sign him. Partly because of he's quality but also because of his history. I bet he couldn't have believed it 10 years ago either

Kinda funny how all the reporters from Athletic, Football London, Evening Standard tweet news of Vicario/Maddison confirmed signing, medical and cite Fabrizio Romano as first to report it. Romano, almost without fail the last 3/4 days, has tweeted Tottenham news about 3 mins after the latest Paul O'Keefe info.

I think Maddison is a good signing. It's a start.

We must get some good defenders tho. And preferably, some pace somewhere in this team, we must be the slowest team in the league!

But yeah, i like the signing.
I'd like us to speak to Juve about a deal for that Iling Jr kid. Yeah he's ex-Chelsea but who gives a shit. They let him go, sure he'd jump at the chance to join us & prove the cunts were wrong. Juve need the cash and he's no important player to them, so bet we'd get him for say 10-15 mil. Perhaps they'd take Dier/Domb/GLC on loan too?

Also worth keeping an eye on that Danny Namaso at Porto. Young English striker doing very well with their reserves and now getting first team experience...and scoring goals.

In terms of foreign players, I do like that Sheraldo Becker from Union. Not a big body, but he's fast, clever, can score & assists, can play central or drift out wide, proper team guy. Played a big part in Union finishing 4th...think he was involved in a third of their goals. Don't think he'd be that expensive and probably a swap type deal to be done with one of our deadwood. But I'm not sure he'd wanna give up on European football to come to us, especially to sit on the bench.

There were - apparently - talks about us being keen on his brother Nico, but it's Inaki Williams I'd like us to take a look at. Been a fan of his for a while. Not the most prolific striker by any stretch, but he's a big & fast fucker. And another team player. If Ange likes his forwards to press like madmen, he'd be excellent at that. Like Becker, I don't think he'd cost a fortune. But yeah, he's approaching 30 and would he leave Bilbao (and his brother) to come to us?
