Perisic is on nearly £100k a week more than Dier, Romero double. We paid £5m for him. Over his career he looks to have been a good egg and a model professional, trains hard, isn't a party boy and doesn't spout off on social media.

There's no denying he was utter shite last season, and has been regressing but that's true of many players except perhaps Kane. It's fair to assume the last three managers have totally screwed many players up and they need a reset.

Should he be moved on? Perhaps, could we do better? For sure, but... if he can find his form, and he has had seasons where he's been pretty decent which got him an England call-up then he might be handy to have around.

He's certainly moved down the pecking order but I don't understand the vitriol towards him. He's not refused to train, put country games before us, walked around the pitch not putting a shift in. He's just been a bit shit.

I would rather move on players like Sess, just pointless them being around, he is young enough to go out and find his level. He isn't confident enough to play a bit part – unless Ange can change his mentality, he just seems very timid and fragile, super scared to do anything wrong
I'm not sure there is a place for him in Postecoglou's fast-paced, attacking system. He's not a full-back, we're not playing wing-backs and he hasn't got anywhere near enough pace to be effective in the front three. He might be able to do a job for another club somewhere but for us he's unfit for purpose.

I think Perisic gets a lot of stick because he is the face of everything that went wrong under Conte. He was Conte's man, the one player Conte categorically wanted and, despite his poor form, he got a lot of game time at the expense of players who weren't on Conte's wish list.

I think it's better for both the club and Perisic that he moves on.

Winks is doing what Deli Alli should have done a couple of years ago, swallow his pride and go and play some football and work his way back into the game.

Another one ☝️ haha 😂 next player coming in could be done soon in advanced talks selling club don’t want to lose them but the deals great for them . Started talks with Lavia's camp too kids got a lot of interest but spurs may be the right fit .

Seems there are loads of leaks flying around. This one sounds like Tapsoba.

Lavia would be a great prospect to pick up.

Yeah like the look of Lavia. Good prospect. But we have our own good prospects in Sarr and Skipp. Both players need playing time to develop.

I know Bentancur is probably out till the end of year but unless it’s an outstanding no brained deal I prefer to give Sarr and even Devine a look instead of getting another mid.

This is also assume PEH has moved on.

i didnt expect you to understand it as you jumped in completely off the mark anyway.

no unfortunately i wasnt. what would he off done if he actually got to the bloke anyway? he would of backed off the fucking pansy like he always does. all bark no bite. good riddance to the gormless mug

Bollocks..... It's always the same with fuckers like you.... As soon as you decide a player is surplus to requirements the character assassinations begin.

.....You did the exact same thing to Son on a weekly basis last season.

The higher salary has proved time and again to be an issue, it's often the stopping point of a transfer. If we subsidise his salary then what? What happens when his contract ends? The club are saddled with a player hoping to still earn £160k per week? Nobody is doing that! Also imagine we sign a player and between us and another club pay him £400k. What will Harry etc. think? There are so many reasons a signing-on bonus is better, we're also likely to pay less by offering this upfront.

It's not always about the payment, but the structure. You can argue until you are blue in the face it's the same but it's not. If we paid £8m, and gave a £5m signing on bonus we could argue it was another way to structure the transfer fee due, and it was Barca taking the hit, not us.

My statement about first team football was in relation to his current choices:

1. Sit on Barca bench
2. Hope to get a loan, and not to some obscure country/league

or come to us, a club and city he seems to know and like where he is likely to get playing time (maybe not first choice but playing time)

I personally don't see £13m as a big fee for a reasonable back-up, sure we should be signing better first team players but we're never going to have two £40m players fighting for positions all over the pitch.

More than likely we can use him for a couple of seasons and move him on for £8m – that's just the cost of ownership. Not every player is going to give us a huge return, our loss on this one could be quite insignificant. I don't see that as a bad thing for business. There are new markets now opening that will help moving him on...

Look at Tanguy £60m purchase and £50m salary. We can probably all agree it's been a dissaster and we're going to loose in-excess of 80m. Nobody will pay his salary, let alone a nominal transfer fee and he wont take a drop in earnings. He's probably going to run his contract down and leave on a free.

I get what you mean.

But try to shortly explain to me - how is this different in terms of money spent if transfer fee is same (let it be 0 or 10 mil) but we either pay him 5 mil sign-up bonus OR we will compensate his salaries for 5 mil once he leaves? How is that different from cash-flow point of view?

Lavia is a pure 6 though.

Sarr still figuring out what he is but I’m betting an 8. Even if I’d like to see him as that inverted FB role

The way some of you lot talk about our players you want gone or don't like, honestly you are the pits and deserve nothing!

Makes me want to pull for those same players and turn their form around.

Makes me wanna see how they'd fair if they insulted a big lad like Dier or Sanchez to their face.......

Obvious bottle job is obvious.

Hojbjerg is underrated a bit, but makes sense to move him on if there's a good offer. Give Skipp, Sarr, Biss time as the six and replace Hojb with a Scott/Hatate type

How wonderfully ironic...

This is a Spurs forum btw - for Spurs fans - you know, being supportive of our players etc. I hope and expect that I speak for 95% of 'the room' on here when I say by all means let's discuss trying to replace players who aren't good enough, let's be disappointed and criticise them when they make mistakes if we wish, but anyone who calls not quite good enough players who are struggling 'cunts' who 'have no pride', and should 'fuck off' should, well, fuck off themselves as far as most on here are concerned.
Couldn't agree more. Well said.
