The bolded part is where we’re going to disagree. After Sanchez, he’s probably the worst technical outfield player in our squad. He's more than okay defensively, he's improved his 1on1 defending massively - if you remember he completely shut down Grealish.
I don't think his technical ability is that bad, it's his decision making and crossing which has a lot to be desired, I agree that moving in in field isn't idea but he's a far better player when he doesn't have to play in those forward areas.
Porro is just a purely wing back, even as a full back his 1 on 1 defending is poor and his positioning needs work, he may have the technical ability to play in field but he does his best work on the wing and in the final 3rd.
Eh? Coutunho, Tiago, Gotze, Mkitaryan, Reus?Strange fit though…
Klopp never had creative CMs, always workhorses
Is that a bad thing though? Good to have players desperate to get on the pitch rather than just sit around collecting their wages and enjoying the facilities, and with proper rotation as you'd hope we will finally start to see, not such an issue anyway.
He sold Coutinho.Eh? Coutunho, Tiago, Gotze, Mkitaryan, Reus?
He can always accommodate a player like Szoboszlai.
This is the kind of Brighton/Brentford signing for 12-15m that we are meant to be expecting from the club.I would've thought the EPL was a tad too early for him. He would probably be better off taking a smaller step to the Bundesliga or Serie A first. The feeling here was starting to be that MidtJylland's asking price of approx. £14m would price some of these clubs out and maybe see him staying. Obviously not a scaring price for a club in the EPL, but maybe a little concerning that these other clubs aren't seeing value at that price
No doubt Isaksen is a star in the Danish league. His form definitely deserved a place in a struggling Danish squad earlier this month but that wasn't to be. Fairly good with both feet but the left being the dominant. A goalscoring RW. Experts here wanted him to become more consistent and perform against the best teams. With good showings this season against Lazio and Feyenoord it seems to be his break through year. His numbers are somehow skewed because MidtJylland have been atrocious. We've got a different League structure, so MidtJylland ending in the bottom half meant they only played the bottom half teams this spring. So Isaksen has been scoring for fun lately, but has to be taken into consideration that it was only against the worst teams
Personally I think it's too big of a step but if he was to work out, he'd come with goals
Yeah, his crossing his piss. But he's not technically deficient, he has technically deficiencies (as do Porro, Spence, Udogie.) First touch, short passing, ability to protect the ball are all very good. He's a decent fit for an inverted type fullback and played something similar to it in games last seasonI’ve read this a lot and I strongly strongly disagree.
He’s ok defensively, no quibble there. But the prospect of a player so limited technically as Royal playing as an inverted full back should frighten every Tottenham fan.
Do we really want him on the ball in the centre of the pitch? Give me a technician like Porro there all day, even if he isn’t perfect.
I don’t think we can assume any sort of system is going to make up for the lack of technical excellent that Royal has. This is a still a professional footballer who struggles to get the ball off the ground when crossing it.
likely, chasing coin. It's over for him IMHO

He fits no mould of any sort of modern successful full back, people seem to just be clinging onto the hope that a system change can unlock something - it won’t.
Tell that to Everton...Not really. We can't sign everyone ffs, nor can we stop other clubs signing players.
It might be too big a step to expect him to play in the first team immediately, but there's nothing to stop us buying him and loaning him out to the Bundesliga or Serie A.I would've thought the EPL was a tad too early for him. I'll always have time for a guy with a top mentality, a grafter, a team player. He changed my mind, for a long time he looked like a competition winner but by the end I was happier seeing him in the team than most others. Think he will continue to improve
