David de Gea free agent as of today midnight, anyone?
John Candy No GIF by Laff

By the same token; neither is the flipside of just having a few tekkers and a half decent cross.
Referring to who? Porro?

I’m not in love with Porro by any means but he’s contributed substantial numbers offensively (as a wing back of course), he’s not “all flash no substance” by any means.

My point was that the role of the inverted full back requires a high degree of technical capability and the ability to play under pressure. Think about how poorly we’ve been playing through any sort of sustained press over the last few years, then imagine that Emerson is pulling central and is the one getting pressed by the opposition.

That frightens me!

Anyway I think I’ve laboured my point over the last few pages. Seems Emerson has turned a lot of fans around over the back half of the season, I’m absolutely nowhere near that yet.

Ange had Carter-Vickers standout. Think Man Utd’s Argi who is 5’9? showed well that the prem has shifted, agility, turning speed, acceleration et al Are now as powerful assets at CB as 6ft++ often the higher centre of gravity is hugely detrimental, now the game is more set up for waves of attacks.

Anyway was messing, but saw they want €70m, thought 💭 💭💭 €20m Lo Celso and €40m might do it like Maddison 💭💭💭

I didn't mention names; but there's a "modern" trend where-upon people are majorly focussed on those things and actually forget what the job of a defender actually is.

World of Hotspur is NOT a Spurs site or run by Spurs supporters, never has been. Main purpose seems to be to wind Spurs fans up

It might fit your posting history though
Been blocked by him/ it several times.
Doesn’t post according to UK hours. I suspect it’s a multi-user handle that tries to get clicks by pissing off Spurs fans. Couldn’t even be positive on the Maddison signing.

How is it that Utd are stymied by the amount they still owe on players they've bought?

Genuine question, as accountancy is an alien language to me.

Several reasons - one being although they might have bought a player such as Sancho for £100m, they paid £20m on purchase with other instalments being paid annually for next 4 years

If they do that with player purchases on a regular basis over a few years its easy to see why they build up a couple of hundred million in amounts due

The other most likely factor that might get in ManU way is FFP, which adjusts their accounts according to certain principles laid down by FFP and if they breach certain limits ..... they are in trouble.

Given the Glazer's ability to extract cash from Man U (for example the interest on the debt of say £600m that is on ManU books is payable to Glazer's at say 10% even though Glazer's borrowed the money from finance houses at say 7% ie Glazer's take a 3% margin on debt) , executive remuneration etc ...... so even though ManU have a high revenue Glazer's find ways to add a lot of cost which affects their cash generation ...... and FFP cost base. Hence ManU more stymied than other clubs

Here’s the thing,

If Kane doesn’t sign a new contract this summer, we are essentially spending 90m plus wages for a 1 year loan.

As stubborn as Levy is, I can’t see any business person in their right mind doing that
I also can't recall Spurs ever wrapping deals up not just early, but also quickly. The speed at which Vicario and Maddison went from talks to actual, THFC official announcement was uncharacteristically quick. Which suggests to me that there is less haggling going on. If there's less haggling going on, it likely means there's money coming or wages being taken off the books.

But I didn't say it was good, people post what they like and everybody as their own idea of what they call a good source. Airfixx doesn't regard the Daily Mirror as a good source for example, other people would regard it as a good source.

Ahhh.... A point you've previously refused to understand rears it's head once more. The fact is I don't care who's reporting as long as what I reading contains substance (tangible/credible quotes).....

You mention sources, but there is not tangible source... Just the re-hashed claims of yet another piss poor website that have NO sources either.

I refuse to believe you indulge such shitty media outside of the football world and apply no filter when getting your so again; the question ... Why bother us with it here?
