That’s apparently not true.

Barca have recently made statements claiming that (Laporta) but the truth appears to be that Barca had/have much stronger ties to the Franco regime and the Nazis.

I’d always assumed that Real were the Franco regime club.

The assumption is that Catalans were anti Franco because they are separatist but there were actually very strong Catalonian links to the Franco regime and the separatists got stronger after his time.

Interesting stuff
I can honestly say that’s not what we’re taught here. Having said that, we’re not taught much about that era. People don’t talk about it (it’s called the pacto del olvido: the agreement to forget)

If we win them both there will be!!

Rock And Roll Singer GIF by American Masters on PBS
Wouldn't that be just Kane's luck, he's in the first team who get no medals, while the second 11 get all the glory!

As a result, your back of a matchbox maths is wrong.
To do this accurately, I'd have to break down the transfer fees into its annual instalments for calculation of annual net spend. I don't have the information or time to do that.

So instead I'm calculating it in a way that makes practical sense. Loan with obligation to buy is just an accounting trick... in practical terms it makes more sense to associate that expenditure with the time the loan deal was agreed rather than the time the obligation was taken up.

Ie if we loan Tapsoba with obligation to buy for 40m next year, I would just count that as 40m net spend in this window. Would be silly to count that as next season's spending (and both are as technically inaccurate as each other, see above)

(Will not count making previous loan deals permanent for the same reason I won't break down transfer fees into their yearly instalments, let's keep it simple )

Done Deals:
Vicario- 16m
Maddison- 40m
Solomon- Free

Winks- 10m
Net Spend so far: 46m

Potential Sales:

Lloris- Free
Sanchez- 10m
Rodon- 5m
Sessegnon- 10m
Reguilon- 5m
Perisic- Free
Ndombele- 5m
Hojbjerg- 20m

Loan out: Tanganga, Spence

That'll bring the net spend down to -£10m.

If we have a budget of £70m this window, that means we'll have £80m more to spend.
Who would you all want to see that £80m spent on?
Would be all for spending the entire 80m on two CBs. Either Tapsoba and Van der Ven or others that might suit the squad

Technically, anything other than breaking down each transfer fee into its annual instalments is wrong when it comes to calculating annual net spend.

I'm just trying to simplify it, and am counting loans with options/obligations to buy as transfer spend associated with the year of the loan, rather than the year the option/obligation is taken up.
He's angry again and fixing for a fight. Ignore him.
You literally said in your post you were not including the loan deals.

To simplify even more, I think we have around £80m-£100m to spend on this improving this squad:

Agree with CerealMaterial CerealMaterial that we spend on both Tapsoba and Van de Ven. That should be around £75m.

In know that this would be a very (over)ambitious transfer plan – and I even doubt that Inácio
and Antonio Silva would want to join Spurs (so alternative would be Tapsoba & van de Ven).
And, of course, the prices I put up can be debated.
But here we go…
