Ange doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would bullshit a player into signing. I'm pretty sure anyone signing for us will know exactly what the deal is from Ange's mouth, no less.
Agree 100% - therefore presumably either a). Ange has a plan / likelihood that involves both VDV and Tapsoba getting lots of game time, or b). VdV is happy that he won't necessarily get a lot of game time, or c). we won't sign both. I hope it's a or b, but I suspect it will be c.

But we dont offer top tier wages? Certainly not in line with what we could. And no European football with one game a week, meaning no true need for rotation.

We can offer Tapsoba and Van De Ven more than they're on now sure. But we can't guarantee both of them first team football so you've really got to question what their ambition is.

Whereas Tosin for example would know he's not going to be first choice. But more than good enough to step in.

Which is why we are more likely to end up with VDV and Tosin. Which is more than good enough and a huge upgrade on Rodon, Tanganga, Dier and Sanchez.

Wouldn't surprise me if we sign van de Ven and reignite our interest in Tapsoba either in January or next summer when he'll end up being cheaper but also with potential need of rotation the following year. Plus, Dier will be off.
1. Compared to other Leagues we are certainly offering top tier wages!

2. Not at any top team in any top league are players guaranteed first team football, nor should they.

The potential drawbacks of both are AFCON for Tapsoba in January (where all Spurs are contractually obligated to pick up a knock on any Int’l duty).

Van de Ven being a Team Raiola player means they’ll possibly want another transfer for him in 2-3 years time, right when he’s entering his prime years.

Probably Caicedo for me. Or Nkunku before Chelsea got him.

Both will probably end up at Chelsea.

Haven't seen much of Nkunku.

Caicedo is decent but I'm yet to be convinced that he's worth what they will have to pay to get him....

If

Mitimo is worth 70m
Caicedo 90m
Colwill 60m+
MacAllister 35m

plus the likes of March and Ferguson...

Brighton probably should have got a CL spot given how shit everyone else was last season.

Divide that by 5 and it's only 30m going out this year...

You know you missed the elephant in the room, right?

IE, if we have to pay £30m for those players as part of their 5 year contract, that we have to pay the instalments on all the players signed within the last 5 years as well. And that would just be the basic version of the truth too. As some may be higher as the players get more games etc.

this has already been posted, right?

Barça president Laporta: “I think that we will reach an agreement for Lenglet with Tottenham”. 3/7/23

AFCON is a valid point if you don't sign Tosin as well as Tapsoba.

tbh, the 2nd CB is actually vital whether you sign VdV or Tapsoba.

They clearly won't bid what it might take to get a Colwill, Tomori, or Guehi, so Tosin becomes an important piece of the puzzle, regardless of what people think of him.
