Van de Ven is not the answer to our problems. He has played exactly 30 matches of top-level football and lacks the aggression, reading of the game, stability, and composure that we need.

They're not linked with going to other leagues though are they?
And not many top teams in top leagues spend over £100,000,000 on three centre backs, without elite wages, with the aim to not playing one in a season where rotation will be at a low with us being in one proper competition

He stopped playing when their club captain came back from injury because he plays RB. Seeing as he was likely signed to help that injury, makes sense he stopped playing after that.
He played until their captain returned from injury, from that point obviously he was benched, you're not going to start your loanee over your captain.
