Midfield seems light and the possibility of signing 3 new CBs seems highly unlikely but I just cannot see how we don't end up with Adarabioyo with his HG status.

We should in reality go for VDV, Tapsoba and Adarabioyo if we have identified the serious issues we have at the back to our fullest.

I do wonder if Lo Celso and/ or Ndombele have an outside chance of being a surprise player for us this season. Our need for a CM is glaringly obvious.....

Agree 100% - therefore presumably either a). Ange has a plan / likelihood that involves both VDV and Tapsoba getting lots of game time, or b). VdV is happy that he won't necessarily get a lot of game time, or c). we won't sign both. I hope it's a or b, but I suspect it will be c.
I think more likely the conversation was "look here, Mick, you're a good player and we're looking to sign another top quality CB, so will be 3 for 2 spots. You train well and listen to my instructions and you'll have a chance at being a starter. Enjoy your lunch."

There’s a huge difference between what he’s worth to Tottenham, and what he’s worth on the market.

He’s 30 this month and has a year left on his deal. 80 million is more than reasonable.

The club is in a situation now where they need to make a decision; sell to Bayern for 80 million this summer, or keep him for one more year and see him go to Yanited/Chelsea for free…

Eighty million is not worth Levy getting out of bed in the morning for.

My take is that if Levy would sell, then a replacement would already be at the club, you just can't wait around for a possible repalcement of a twenty odd goal a season striker.

I truly think Kane will stay, and sign a new contract, I just can't see him taking his family to new Country when he would lose English schooling, grandparents and othe relatives close by.

He is now possibly the second best goalscorer in Europe and plays a more expansive game than Haarland.

Turning thirty or not, he's still good to go for another five seasons in my opinion.

Van de Ven is not the answer to our problems. He has played exactly 30 matches of top-level football and lacks the aggression, reading of the game, stability, and composure that we need.

He is a raw ball of clay, he has a good profile and potential, but fuck he’s going to look like a donkey on skates at times this year.

He’s not a commanding presence. Nowhere near the finished product.

I’m concerned.
Yeah but Romero is always composed !!

They're not linked with going to other leagues though are they?

And not many top teams in top leagues spend over £100,000,000 on three centre backs, without elite wages, with the aim to not playing one in a season where rotation will be at a low with us being in one proper competition

Get real. This isn't Football Manager.
I don't play video games, children do!

So we should NOT try to sign BOTH Tapsoba and Van De Ven because you are concerned it's to expensive and would make one of them sad???

Is it your money?

With a squad of 33 players it must have made those in the 2nd and 3rd eleven mighty pissed and sad!! AND cost us a fortune!

99.99% on this forum thinks we need CB's galore because 90% of the ones we'we got are shit!

If there's one thing this club can't afford to be cheap about anymore it's the CB-situation. It MUST be solved this summer!!

Not even sure these posters are real?
My suspicions are that they are made up to generate interest and funds to the website?

I counted around thirteen hundred quid donated (if everyone delivers on their promise) in one day alone towards the SC "upkeep" of their website server.

This according to Rob and A&C would see them through to later in the year.

On antother related story, I had an email come to me from the King of Afeimrifneovnoefhaz stating that i was his long lost stepson and that he wanted to share a one hundred million pound inheritance with me.

All he needed was my bank account details in order to transfer the money.

Didn't realise that it was my money he was intending to transfer.

Anyone spare me some cash?

I don't play video games, children do!

Then stop using video game logic

So we should NOT try to sign BOTH Tapsoba and Van De Ven because you are concerned it's to expensive and would make one of them sad???

Not when we have problems throughout the squad when it comes to needing HG players and a squad big enough for four competitions when we're only needing a squad for two.

Nope. Which is why I couldn't care less if Kane goes on a free next season or not.

With a squad of 33 players it must have made those in the 2nd and 3rd eleven mighty pissed and sad!! AND cost us a fortune!

Well, there's a reason we likely need rid of 10+ players in that squad mate. Don't you think?

99.99% on this forum thinks we need CB's galore because 90% of the ones we'we got are shit!

Which is why we'll end up signing two new centre backs this summer. One of which I imagine will be HG, used as a rotation option but an upgrade on what we currently have.

If there's one thing this club can't afford to be cheap about anymore it's the CB-situation. It MUST be solved this summer!!

Well, we'll be having a new partner next to Romero come that opening day or the season. That's a fact.

Davies, Dier, Sanchez need their own squad:

The Dysentery Men.

Again, nothing to do with Spence not getting played much for Rennes. That's between him and Rennes and them alone.

Also worth pointing out, despite the craziness, despite the football, Conte left with us in 4th and, had the ref not been bent, 3rd place. And he joined us when we were in 9th position.
He lifted a mid table squad into the top 4 and he kept it there. Once he left, it almost immediately went back to being mid table.

So putting the style of football to one side, I think it's incredibly hard to say he was "shit"
Is that you Antonio?
:sonhmm:
