We probably need 3, with 2 of them being established ones!

What's not logical about spending about £80mil on a CB pairing in an area we desperately needs better players??? We spent £60mil on a backup striker
We can afford it!

60m on one player is alot more logical than 80m+ on two in a bloated squad though that are in one main competition..

So you would be happy with 1 new CB playing besides Romero in a defence that leaked more than Titanic?

I'd he happy with van de Ven coming in to partner Romero with Tosin providing back up as the HG option, yes.

Spurs could spend the 80 million on both and sort out the defence for 5+ years. It’d give Ange a solid foundation for his first season. I’m sure the fanbase would rather do this and not sign anyone else for the rest of the window too.

So close, and yet we’re going to settle for less again. That’s the difference between us and the other big 5 clubs

Like when we spent 70m on Ndombele and Lo Celso to help us sort out our midfield for years.

The good old days.

The simple fact is, no one here knows what comes in and goes out every year.
Not to the exact pennies but those figures I quoted are taken from the selling clubs official statements in many instances and from the BBC, Gold and Romano etc.
So they are ball park correct at the very least. Maybe even quite close to actual fees.

If we aren’t signing both centre halves then it’s a big season for Romero

I’ve never seen what the fuss is about with him but no European football means he should be able to stay fit and hopefully show us all why he’s so rated

The difference is that Liverpool start with a revenue base that is 100-150m higher than ours. FSG have been even worse than ENIC at dipping into their own pocket.

They have a lower net spend I believe?

At least in recent years.

Difference is they have the conviction to pay more for targets they really believe in and have bought better players. Which has 2 benefits, winning so more revenue and better players so more sales.
