A few options should Maddison get injured:

Son ------ Kane ------ Porro
Bentancur ------ Kulu
Bissouma

Solomon ------ Kane ------ Son
Bentancur ------ Kulu
Bissouma

Son ------ Kane ------ Kulu
Bentancur ------ Sarr
Bissouma
Notes:
- Son & Solomon (+arguably Gil) can play on both sides.
- You might consider Kulu out of position, but some people are jazzed about AM being his best position.
- People are similarly jazzed about Porro as RW.

WouId I welcome a back-up AM (eg Scott); sure...... Bring it on.
Would I prefer GLC ahead of any of the above? No.
All of your line ups have very serious problems. Son out of position on RW, moving Porro to RW is a big risk, Kulu is not suited to RCM, and your LCM Bentancur is injured for months (understand that Skipp can play DM, Bissouma LCM, but means Sarr has more positions to cover as back-up).

Scott is not PL ready yet.

The fact you would prefer all of these ahead of a player who starts in RCM/LCM for Argentina and Villarreal in a 433... is irrational.
Emery is a smart manager, knows the difference between PL and La Liga better than most, and knows GLC inside out.

I wonder if you believe the rumours he faked injuries and are letting emotions getting in the way?

Sorry meant dross. Predictive texting etc. Just wondering all these players going to saudi. What do they play for there? The sand cup?
Don't worry Bruv, I knew what you meant, I just couldn't resist. 😜

They're going to Saudi for a payday, that's it. The Saudis will eventually create their own "Super League," I feel it's inevitable in a World where everything is about money, and the Saudis have most of it. But at this point in time, they haven't quite established themselves.

I've seen them compared to China, and you could go back to the 70's where the septics were establish a league, bringing the likes of an aged Pele over to try and garner more interest, like the Saudis have done with Ronaldo.

The difference is that neither the Chinese nor Americans had a bottomless well of money to make it work.

Just found the article online. The "Reg isn't in Ange's plans" bit is a throwaway line and the bit about him being valued at €10 million is clearly stated as being his Transfermarkt estimate. So LWOS overegging a poor translation basically.
... and as i mentioned that article was before Ange met the players who all arrived on July 1st, that article was June 29th 3 days before, hence why its clickbait further promoted by clickbait specialists LWOS

Not serious problems; no.

Are they without concern? No....
Neither is selecting GLC IMO.

Son out of position on RW,

Son's played RW plenty.
So has Solomon.
Gil's best games here have been on the right.
Perisic is proven to play on either wing.

moving Porro to RW is a big risk,

Not really..... Some are keen to see him there under this manager.

Kulu is not suited to RCM,

Neither is GLC IMO, but peeps are peddling the idea that our #8s will be unleashed like AMs under Ange..... Kulu himself claims to be an AM.

and your LCM Bentancur is injured for months (understand that Skipp can play DM, Bissouma LCM, but means Sarr has more positions to cover as back-up).

Biss / Kulu or Sarr
Skipp

Another option that doesn't require GLC. Cheers. 👍

Scott is not PL ready yet.

You don't know this any more than I do.....

Tapsoba & De Ven haven't kicked a ball in the EPL; but most people here (and I assume you) would welcome either of them in our new first XI...... Ditto our new GK.... Ditto Udogie..... Ditto any number of young hot-shot continentals people would be keen to sign.

Reminder: We're talking about injury cover; yet by your reckoning Sarr, Skipp, Scott and pretty much anyone else not considered a PL-proven senior starter has no significant funcion in this squad.

The fact you would prefer all of these ahead of a player who starts in RCM/LCM for Argentina and Villarreal in a 433... is irrational.

It's not.... I've explained my reasoning. This is getting repetitive.

However; the simplest part to grasp ought to be how little I rate GLC (and I"ve already articulated why).

Yes; I'd rather stretch Kulu's positional remit instead of playing GLC..... We're playing fantasy football and that's my selection.

Emery is a smart manager, knows the difference between PL and La Liga better than most, and knows GLC inside out.

I wonder if you believe the rumours he faked injuries and are letting emotions getting in the way?

I told you why I don't rate the player; pls stick to that.

Think once we fly to Australia we will have all our targets. Then it's the process of selling the dress.

If we aren't getting both then I prefer VDV over Tapsoba - seems a bit more composed on the ball, reads the game well and we need a good leftie. Reminds me a bit of Jan, strides out well, good passer, good attitude.

I don't know enough about either to say much but if the supposed speed/strength of VDV is real, and he's not otherwise hugely inferior to Tapsoba, he'd be a better signing.

We need the pace for a high line and to cover for Romero.

That remains to be seen. Up until this summer pretty much most of their transfers worked out.

Also, you’re one of those who were raving last season that Richarlison’s a better transfer than Jesus?
I can't take posts like this serious. Woolwich have been shit at transfers for ages, it's why they collapsed after Wenger left and have been behind us for years. One season in 2nd, when they collapsed in historic fashion, and they've got people like you licking their boots?

Nah. It was a fortunate run, but they fucked their chance. And now they're back to spunking money they don't have on players with name recognition and no substance. Long live Wal Mart FC.

Kronke & Edu's names were absolute dirt amongst their mob as recent as last summer..... Yet; now they've got Spurs fans eagerly on their teet and have done since not long after last season kicked off!

....Up next: "Always been a big fan of Gold & Sullivan's work.... Nuff respect... Great stadium too.".
