What you fail to understand, is that every single expensive signing we have made, with no exception has been somewhere between dismal at worst and suspect at best.

Before Alderwiered there was modric, Berbatov, Bale, Keane, Defoe, Robinson, Palacios, Woodgate, Dawson, Lennon,

We have a considerably better track record with promising players than expensive ones.
When have we pushed the boat out and really spent and that player been an unequivocal success?
I bet the closest you can come is Romero. I think a lot of fans are massively on the fence on that one.
The problem is the Market has changed over the years you can no longer pick up a Lennon or Rose for £1m. The other problem we have is the profile of top player we look at. We rarely sign the top player who is complete like a De Bruyne we sign the next tier down and generally they have massive downsides to them like Ndombele who every one knows that he does not have a good enough work ethic.

Tanguy, Bissouma, Madders, Kulusexy

Rodrigo hasn't even returned yet

Happy Antonio Banderas GIF
Can someone text the real Carl Johnson Carl Johnson and tell him his profile has been hacked

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to trigger Victor Nelsson’s £21m[€25m] release clause to lure him to the newly renovated White Hart Lane this summer, as per the Turkish outlet Aksam.

Well it's renovated all right. Thoroughly.

Well, when you sign 20 cheapos to every 3 expensive you are going to have a considerably better track record with cheap signings than expensive ones.

Why can't you pick up a Lennon or Rose?
We picked up a Dele for not much more than basic inflation.
Scouting players is key and it's something we've really, really lost our way with IMO.

Shakhtar Donetsk are hoping to come to an agreement with Tottenham over Manor Solomon.

The Israeli winger is set to follow James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario as Spurs’ latest signing of the Ange Postecoglou era after agreeing a contract at the weekend.

Solomon spent last season on loan at Fulham from Shakhtar and is technically available on a free transfer after FIFA ruled that all overseas players based in war-torn Ukraine could suspend their contracts for a further year.

Shakhtar had threatened to sue Spurs over the deal but their CEO Sergei Palkin has now said he hopes to reach an amicable agreement ahead of the clubs' friendly in north London on August 6, which is being played to raise funds for victims of the war.

Spurs expect to confirm Solomon's move on a five-year deal before the match, however.

“Tottenham is an established, respected club with a big history and a huge number of fans around the globe,” Palkin told The Athletic.

“We are sure Tottenham executives understand that Shakhtar invested significant money in the Solomon transfer, investment that Ukrainian clubs in our difficult position, simply cannot afford to lose.

“We hope we will have a meeting with Tottenham representatives on the eve of our friendly match and in good faith we will find a solution to the Manor Solomon issue. The solution should satisfy both sides.”

I'm not a particular fan of Gallagher and there are similarities with him and Hojbjerg but 5 years younger, room for improvement and homegrown it wouldnt be a terrible move. He's more dynamic than Hojbjerg and you could see him doing well in Postecoglous system. Again he's a bit of a 6/7 out of 10 player though.
I don't mind Gallagher. He did well at Palace on loan. I know last year wasn't as good but nobody did well in that shit show of a team.

Nah nah nah nah nah, I'm not having that.

We've signed enough expensive players for 1 to be a bonfire success. Name 1.

The fee is irrelevant. Haaland cost less on paper than either of Richarlison or Ndombele.
You're getting too obsessed with the headline, but you need to read the context as well. The signings we make are signed to fit in our wage structure. That's the real spending chart to look at.
For us to get players in our wage structure, they lack experience and sometimes even realised talent.

Perisic for example was free, but is 100% better at everything than Sessegnon who cost £30,000,000

Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have told Bayern Munich that they would have to bid ‘at least £90m’ for Harry Kane for the offer to be seriously evaluated.

A couple of days ago, we relayed an update by Ben Jacobs, who said that Bayern are ready to test Tottenham’s resolve with an improved offer of £80m for Kane.

The journalist explained that Spurs are relaxed about the striker’s future and that Ange Postecolgou is expected to make it clear to the 29-year-old that he is an important part of his plans.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano told CBS Sports Golazo on Monday that personal terms are not expected to be an issue, with Daniel Levy being the main roadblock for the transfer.

He explained that the Spurs chairman is ready to fight to keep the England captain at N17.

Spurs would consider £90m bid for Harry Kane
Galetti has now also asserted that agreeing to personal terms with Kane would be straight-forward for Bayern, who are now readying an improved offer for the Tottenham man.

The journalist claimed that it would take an offer of £90m for Levy and co to seriously consider selling the centre-forward this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

If it is true that there is only a difference of £10m in the two clubs’ valuations of Kane, then one would expect that to be ironed out over the coming weeks.

We will have a lot more clarity on this potential transfer once Postecoglou speaks to the 29-year-old over the coming days.

You also have Lo Celso but like Ndombele there is attitude questions. If we find a system/environment to get the best out of them we are covered but it’s an if.

Have no idea if Ndombele or Lo Celso will make it with us but I can say defensive managers like Jose/Nuno/Conte had zero chance. Possession managers should in theory fit a lot more.

Style of play will help a lot of our players.

Still believe our team is closer to the one we saw under Conte's first 6 months than the last season.

It seems like Ndombele wants to be here. Lo Celso hasn’t said anything much about coming back and I guess he wants to go.

He will almost certainly have a few suitors as well.

I'm not saying we shouldn't do anything, of course I ain't. We bloody need to do summit and get rid of the junk.

And yeah them two do look better, on paper and the eye test. All I'm saying is, I wanted surer things. But hey, I'll certainly back them newbies once they don the shirt.
Spurs aren’t high enough in the picking order to buy a surer thing. That’s the reality.

Toby wasn’t a sure thing and neither was Jan.

At 24, Tapsoba is extremely polished I feel and is ready to make the jump. VDV is more of a project, but I can’t turn my nose up at at what is an extremely promising set of attributes.

If you buy only ready made players, then honestly, what is the point of having a coach?

You have a problem with the working classes as well, colour me surprised.
Not at all
I am working class. I have more of a problem with working class Tories like you but that’s another story.
I use Hackney Marshes as an example because it’s (relatively) close to Tottenham and houses a lot of Sunday leagues. It’s also where I played as a kid and Sunday Leaguer.
You can leave a shit review or you get up and leave mid performance that's how you see demonstrate dissatisfaction at those particular modes of entertment
You can leave anytime during a football match. You might not have noticed but you’re not locked in.
What the fuck is entertment? Dictionaries are your friend, pal.
