Not claiming to be ITK, just sharing a funny story.

Good friend of mine is Hajduk fan and journalist. Told me that it wasn’t Romano or Di Marzio that scooped Perisic back to Hajduk, it was his local priest in a town called Omis.

Apparently included him in his sermon last Sunday 🤣
Also, Perisic mrs has enrolled their kid in a Kindergarten in Omis,

So that’s Church and Kindergarten ITK 🤣🤣

8 assists and 1 goal isn't back for a LWB really. I thought he could have done a job as both LWF & RWF.
More assists in 1 PL season than Davies in the last 5 seasons!

Calhanoglu or Caqueret. Both at different times in their careers but both got a bit of of everything in their game as midfielders. I’d side more with the Turk because I’ve seen more of him and always liked what is saw. He’s in his prime at 28.
Caqueret on the other hand is a young lad but plays the game with so much maturity. Rarely loses possession but always looks to play forward first, gets close to people and has a great knack of winning the ball back and is capable of playing further forward.
If Hojbjerg goes any of these two are on a different level.
Chalanoglu just renewed his contract til '27 I think.. would take a huge bid to pry him away.

Okay, let's run through a quick scenario.

You buy three lower cost players for 30 million or less (I can't believe that's a lower cost now apparently) for a total of 90 million and you have a hit rate of 33%, where one of the three is a real standout and a great deal.

You buy two 70 million pound players for a total of 140 million and you have a 50% hit rate, ones great and ones a dud.

You act like it's a bad thing but the first option actually nets you the same amount of additive players to your team and financially you're in a better position both in terms of the transfer fee and likely in weekly wages.
The model of spending on low unproven players with potential is only successful at clubs with the best possible scouting and analytics departments and a comfortable environment where players are given time to develop as there isn't any pressure to compete at the highest level season after season.

The transfer hit rate largely depends on the quality of your scouting and analytics team whether you're Man City or Brentford.

Agree with you that you don't fix a shitty defence with "B-listers"

But years of neglect, and now no European football, it will be almost impossible to attract the "A-listers" sadly.

Having said that, i think we should absolutely TRY to go for the "A-listers", we now got the money to do it!

Levy really has put us in a real bad situation now. Starting when he refused to back Poch. At the time we were flying we were maybe only 2-4 really good signings away from establishing us as a big European force, and a domestic contender!

Since then it's been slowly downhill for 4-5 years! We haven't cleared any deadwood at all, and not signed any major players.

Now we sadly have to start all over again because of it! And we surely don't have the pull we had under the Poch Glory Days.

Now we are(me included) begging on our knees that we sign BOTH Tapsoba and Van de Ven, players from what you call the "B-list". That's saying something!

And i'm not gonna judge anything/anyone before they have gotten a fair chance. But i suspect we are probably in need of higher calibre CB's than those two to get us out of this mess!

And i suspect we need 3 CB's not 1

How dare you bring such common sense to water down all the delusion!!!!!

Seriously though. What an absolute terrific post
