so what do you suggest as an alternative? buy players that Ange doesn't want and sell players he wants to keep?
Yes let's try a George Costanza, do the exact opposite to what you use to do!

This will be the summer of George!

Would be worried about Davies at LB in a four. Decent on the left of a three, think he's seriously wanting for pace, when he's forced to turn as a standard lb. Has been pretty mediocre in that position for years now.
Yeah depends how Ange sets the defence, definitely can't count on Sess so maybe Reggy does enough 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to trigger Victor Nelsson’s £21m[€25m] release clause to lure him to the newly renovated White Hart Lane this summer, as per the Turkish outlet Aksam.

As Tottenham continue to look around to bolster the squad for Ange Postecoglou, they are keeping an eye on Galatasaray.

Spurs are looking for a new centre-back and potentially a right-back, and both Victor Nelsson and Sacha Boey at the Turkish club are targets for the London side.

That’s what journalist Zeki Uzundurukan told Transfer Plus on Wednesday, relayed by GS Gazete, as he explained the situation surrounding Tottenham and the two players.

The news comes as Erden Timur, the vice-president of Galatasaray, spends time in London to sort out some transfer negotiations, where he met both Chelsea and Tottenham.
When it came to the chat with Spurs, it was said that he met with the club’s officials, although no one in particular is named, who asked about the asking price for both Nelsson and Boey.

Timur’s answer? “We want €50m”.

Now, with the centre-back having a €25m release clause in his deal, that means Sacha Boey is also valued at €25m, making this a fairly straightforward double transfer for Tottenham to pull off if it comes down to it.

I'd define it as above our average spending for that period.
As in £30m for Lamela in 2013 was a lot, but in 2023 it's a cheap signing. I would probably just about extend that amount out to Sissoko as well. 2017?
£11m for Berbatov was about the same as what we paid for Rebrov years before.
Rebrov was expensive, Berbatov was a bargain.

Think of it that way.
For over 20 years ENIC have always looked for bargains instead of setting up and heavily invest on a proper scouting and analytics team which could have helped the club addressing issues like identifying right players to improve the team a lot better.

Bargain hunting is double edged sword, for every Berbatov there's Pekhart.

Things have been getting slightly better though since Paratici arrival, he seems like the only guy who has managed to get Levy to do what he says half the time.
