Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ten Haag has taken time to get rid of the crud from United. They've had a really good clear out this summer (not saying they will be brilliant). I'm expecting similar with us this year, Ange will take a while to figure this squad out but I reckon he will do a good job. He is eminently more likeable than everyone since poch. Kane is gone but I think we will play nice football and improve on last year. Good luck Ange

If we lost Kane while playing Maureen or ConteShitball, then I would be more worried.

I know its early, but Anges style has given me hope that it's not all doom and gloom. Let's see how it pans out. Ange and these players need us fans more than ever right now.
Kane is a Spurs icon and a generational talent which means loosing him will induce a huge feeling of appreciation of what’s to come.

But oddly there is a real chance that Ange could get us to press high more effectively , more relentlessly now Kane won’t be in the side.

Unfortunately I’m new to Ange so can’t say this with conviction but having read up on him and how his previous teams play, whilst taking into account Kane’s only real weaknesses, I remain cautiously optimistic.

I don’t think he’s very proud of that but that journo was a bit of a dick who was spoiling for a row. You get treated the way you deserve usually.

It was brewing mate.

Craig Foster had been baiting Ange for a long time. Neither came out of that interview looking good.

It took 16 years ( yeah that long ), but they have mended their friendship.

It's not always helpful to make direct comparisons, as Australia, Japan and Scotland are obviously different levels compared to the Premier League, but Ange has thrived in this situation before. Especially with Celtic who were coming off the back of an awful season and several of their best players were leaving - Édouard, Ajer, Christie, Brown, etc. It was a significant rebuild.

I suspected Kane was off when Ange was first linked, because he's not really the type of manager you bring in to tweak a few things in the hope of unlocking success, like a Mourinho or a Conte. He's the guy you bring in when you need a 180 change of direction, a culture reset, a clear identity. He thrives on proving others wrong moreso than living up to existing expectations, and that will suit this current situation to a T.

Actually looking forward to that

Get the feeling Ange knew all along Kane was off and sees it as a big opportunity to build his team. Said it before, Ange builds teams. He's not interested in stars and all the bullshit we have seen that comes with them. Wouldnt surprise me if he was part of giving the green light for Kane to Bayern

The big question is what you gonna change your forum name too??

I absolutely get that but all I have now is an overwheling sense of frustration.

For the first time since Redknapp we have an attacing manager

He arrived when we had our best goalscorer since Jimmy Greaves

We are playing a brand of footie which is exciting, entertaining, great to watch, and creates tons of chances. Kane would fill his boots with this guy in charge.

This is like Lineker joining (ooh great!!)

And 5 mins later we sell Waddle

Yet again our wankstain slaphead does a Berbatoss - let's sell a great player, haggle over buttons, and leave a manager shafted.

I trust Ange to get things right, but yet again Levy makes the manager's job absurdly difficult

Poch was an attacking manager. We had a boss team WITH Kane leading the line.... They didn't win anything.

May be scant consolation today, but........

Ange hasn't been "left shafted" either".
That Poch team was a "get the ball back immediately"

then possession based

aiming to create space with a lot of passing around the back

bit like chess, thinking positions 20 moves ahead

for a brief spell with Rose and Walker fit we tore teams a new one with pace down the flanks

No pressure Ange, but the hopes of our entire fanbase rest on you being able to be bigger than Jesus.

:ange-arms:
Not really. If anything this has reduced whatever pressure he had, which wasn't much to begin with.

Personally, this season I'd just be happy with decent football and an improvement on the 63 goals that we conceded last season. If the team collectively scores 60 goals without Kane, then he's worked miracles.
