While he is limited on the ball he was half decent with Poch. I just don’t think he can play in a low block, but in a press where he is often defending by foot races with attackers he is in his element. Other than that he might be a confidence player and if Conte was ripping him to pieces it probably didn’t help.

I think also the world is changing with sport. It’s matching the modern social media internet type age. People want to watch 2 YouTubers box rather than a couple of top pros in a more traditional venue. Champions going on the undercard of 2 YouTubers!
& a lot of the the very few big boxing fights end up being in Saudi Arabia! So it’s a double whammy of times changing & £££ buying things & sport.
There is a lot of fan boys of certain players or clubs who are global brands. My kid nephews & his mates have psg shirts & follow certain players where they go. Psg have become a big brand now. Some do also support a proper English team but it’s a big change from our day. Just because most football fans in the UK don’t watch the french league, it has barely any impact on how much psg have grown. Ronaldo & messi are still 2 of the biggest players despite playing in USA & Saudi leagues. None of us watch it but it doesn’t matter.
I think people over about 35 are out of touch so think how can you prefer to watch a Saudi league match rather than the good old proper top tier English league. But who would have thought YouTubers fighting would have so much interest. Also England is only a small country so as you say most of the rest of the world don’t care about our traditions.
£££ bought a WC so I am sure it can buy the CL or as in golf set up s rival competition so they have to give in & go with the times.
