That’ll annoy all the moaners on here who we’re sure him and Dier would be starting for us with Brendan on the bench

People really try to push the narrative that we spend poorly because of how we spent like 4 years ago.

Sadly the issue was we spent very badly for 3 years on the trot from 2016 - 2019, best buys were probably Moura and Sanchez as measured in terms of playing over more than one season.

Had we spent as well in those 3 years as we actually have done in this summer, last year and year before, we would have another say 9 decent players in the squad, so wouldn't be needing as many reinforcements as we do - and not be faced with paying off some of those we bought. Those years have really crippled us - so very happy to see reminders that recent transfer business has been far better

Even Ali Gold in his latest article has reiterated the point ..

"Tanguy Ndombele appears to have missed another chance to find a place at the north London club. football.london understands that despite a bright start Postecoglou grew unimpressed with the Frenchman's attitude and application as pre-season wore on, including his time-keeping."

He goes on to also say his fitness is quite behind others and ange wont play players that cant play his high tempo as it would be a detriment to both the team and player

Lazy and unprofessional cunt, reports and murmurings pretty much from the off and the same keeps on being reported 4 years later.... he already knows after his contract with us no one and i mean NO ONE is giving him the pay day of 200k a week (800k a month), so he is milking the contract to the end.
Has to go down as the worst mistake the club ever made.
I would honestly buy him out of his contract and just release him, I don't want him anywhere near the rest of the squad with his attitude.

Agree to most but its 2016 to 2020. The summer 2020 window was Hart, Rodon, Doherty, Requilon and Hojbjerg. The latter you could claim has done a job of sorts but the other 4 more money and time wasted.

All of whom were Mourinho choices, apart from Rodon - the ubiquitous "club signing / punt".

And having a DoF wouldn't have made the blindest bit of difference because the club would have been determined to support the "Special One" as he attempted to keep us in the CL in the aftermath of Poch being fired.

I thought Joe Lewis' speciality was gaming the system & exploiting loopholes.

Shame he cares more about yachts & screwing currencies than football or Spurs.

Whatever loopholes they are exploiting (any potential rule-breaking consequences TBC); they're still spending these insane amounts of (what is increasingly suspected to be Saudi) money..........

Lewis is a business man; ENIC are an investment company....... Not a sports-washing operation or a Saudi-league talent-exhchange conduit or whatever it is that blue filth have mutated into.

The complaint that he isn't pumping his kids inheritance into buying titles for Spurs fans is apples vs oranges.
