The fact is our ability to act in the market, completely understandably, was harmed for 3 years. When we did spend, like the summer where Poch was backed after the CL final, we spent very badly.
YES there was short term harm caused by a worthwhile investment and YES there was one particularly bad summer of investment and YES the managerial appointments for five years were terrible.
But also YES we will be much better off in the long term because of that investment and we are starting to see those gains materialise now. Fans just need an ounce of something they haven’t got…
