That was the case. No problem with that investment but they should have modelled in some form of player investment to the overall business case. A massive missed opportunity - that was the point in time Lewis should have injected a one-off amount in players to maximise our position of strength (stellar first 11) alongside the long term stadium. The club would be worst more and we would have almost certainly made that 250M back in addtl revenue IMO

I actually think the reason we didn’t spend was not a lack of money, but more so Levy personally focusing on the stadium which again shows an inability of the megalomaniac to delegate
“Modelled in some sort of play investment”

You’re just making things up.

The fact is our ability to act in the market, completely understandably, was harmed for 3 years. When we did spend, like the summer where Poch was backed after the CL final, we spent very badly.

YES there was short term harm caused by a worthwhile investment and YES there was one particularly bad summer of investment and YES the managerial appointments for five years were terrible.

But also YES we will be much better off in the long term because of that investment and we are starting to see those gains materialise now. Fans just need an ounce of something they haven’t got… common sense patience

Wolves just signed him, he's not going anywhere this season. So loose that hope

It shouldn’t have been harmed - they should have included some form of transfer budget into the business case

Interesting that during preseason in terms of getting dangerous crosses into the penalty area that Perisic was the most consistent at doing so. I would therefore try Kulusevski on the left, Solomon on the right and Son through the middle.
So even though Perišić was the most consistent crosser of the ball, the solution to our left side would be to move Kulu there??

No need to capitalise SIX. When 2 of them won't even feature for the first team this season.. bit of a stretch.

We just had a 100m injection, 50m of share capital to be drawn and probably another 50m in sales coming. Show some bollocks and upgrade the toothless attack or the Skipp role. Add another CB.

But we will dither and sign middling Schuurs on deadlime day.

You're rambling man...... And your prior whinge about Deadline Day FC (sic) WAS a silly cliche.

Bearing in mind we HAVE already signed six players; should the last few weeks of the window be classed as out of bounds?

......Of course not.

Even when we haven't left our business til the last minute (which is proven to be a myth anyway) peeps still act like we do.
