Do we not need to sign some homegrown players, not for this season, but would it not limit us next window if we get Europe. It looks like we have these?

Forster - Likely to leave next season
Whiteman - 3rd keeper, so seems ok
Phillips - Unkown quality and if he will be in the squad next year
Davies - Ideally we would upgrade next year
Skipp - Going to be difficult to upgrade as we will need the club trained / HG aspect
Maddison - Ok

Pararici scouted Johnson a shit load when Nottm Forest were in the Championship. So links don't really surprise me.

I don't mind him as a player. Think he's rapid but more a right winger than a forward. But 45m is just lots of money for him.

I'm sure like any manager he'd have done his research beforehand. Winks left early so why not others? Did he not want to see what he could do? The list of potential outs pretty much mirrors what we all expected and predicted bar perhaps Lo Celso (i still think we'd accept a decent offer).

You say that, but Dav & Perisic (and likely GLC) seem to have earned themselves a reprieve..... Likewise for a flash moment it seemed like Ndombele might (until he got the mildest of knocks and reverted to type). Reg was given game-time throughout the entire pre-season too (yet seemingly failed his audition).

The fact is what might have seemed cut and dried to us fans won't have done to any pro worth their salt.... If they had the chance to assess up close then they're wise to do so(***). Ange himself said he wanted to run rule over the whole squad so honestly; what is there to debate here? The process has been perfectly evident.

(***....And what kind of view does Ange really get watching these lads fail at playing Conte/Jose-ball anyway?)

Even with Dier we started the summer assuming he'd stick around and now it looks like - as the process has played out - he now feels like he may not have a present here (let alone a future).

I take your point about Winks; but perhaps he saw the writing on the wall and actively wanted a move.... Perhaps his time in Italy exposed him to the realisation that he didn't want to be a bit-part anymore.....?

So who does that leave?

Rodon (Already loaned)
Sess (Injured - No dice.)
Gil (Injured - No dice.)
Lloris (just a matter of when.... No fee likely; so who gives a shit?)
Spence (Only just added to the trf list)

I understand the frustration, BUT I'm not the slightest bit suprised that our crappiest crap hasn't been moved yet...... The dregs and loans usually move latest in the window once the trickle through from all the big deals has gone on.

It’s more the attitude to the market than the actual players we are signing. I think we have signed good midfielders for that £95m.

It’s just that Levy would never spend £100m on one player. Even if that player would be perfect for the team, was proven quality and someone the manager personally asked for, he would never do it. Never. Even if we could afford it. He would never do what Bayern did with Kane or Woolwich did with Rice.

100m MFs is the new 60m MFs...... We did that with Ndombele; so this is not exactly true.

Considering Kane’s departure was delayed whilst we got our house in order it’s been pretty much radio silence for the last fortnight with no incomings or outgoings.

There never seems to be any urgency with Spurs. We’re one injury (Romero) away from alarm bells in central defence, the same at full back, I would argue we’re light in central midfield already (Skipp’s no Bissouma), no pace out wide and toothless through the middle (Richarlison lacks any killer instinct).

We dominated possession in the second half against Brentford without creating anything significant whereas they had the best chances overall and should have won the game. We need a spark both out wide and through the middle plus more depth.
TBF, they had chances because we ere pushed right up in their half
It would be interested to see what kinds of chances we make against United who won't sit deep with 11 men behind the ball

I don’t believe any of these rumours. I don’t even think we’re interested in Orban.

Paratici is still running the show so something will emerge out of nowhere and get done reasonably quickly. My bet is that he’s trying to plunder Juve again.
