You’re comparing 1 year of Dier against 5 years of Schuur which is ridiculous.
The cost of Dier over the next five years is:
1 year of Eric Dier’s salary + 4 years of his replacement’s salary and transfer fee (because his contract expires at the end of the season and he has to be replaced).
That’s what you need to compare against Schuur’s five year contract.
Given that Schuur will make less than Dier’s 80k and transfer frees and salaries will go up next year, it’s obviously cheaper to bring in Schuur this year than to keep Dier and replace him next year with a Schuur equivalent.
This is basic third grade logic. Try it.

Not sure on Orban either as I really don’t know enough about him but Richy and Veliz are not enough for this season imo. Veliz will probably not even make a match day squad and will be in the development squad next season
And he himself used play in the Chelski academy, so he's one of many of their rejects they're buying back...
I like the idea of going after some younger promising players so I'm not opposed at all if they see that in Orban and want to bring him onboard. I totally agree though that I'd like him but not at the expense of another CB.

We are playing once a week, we could do with Richy and Son as options for ST spot.
