30m is too high especially for a player who plays in a league where Troy Parrot would slot in 20 goals a season.
If there is a genuine willingness on both sides I think there's a deal to be done......
Firstly.... Whilst it feels regrettably expensive in terms of the 15m 'late tax'; remember the (figurative) 'late tax' we charged on Kane was approaching 30m (compared to early bids), so you can reconcile one against the other there.
Secondly they were allegedly interested in Dier............ Could we sling him the other way for a book value of 10m?
....Additionally; they have a 20% sell-on clause to QPR for Eze meaning that any way we can bring the net price down; Palace actually start to save money on that too (for starters that would mean Dier only costs them 8m in net terms).
Lastly; can we offer them any other players (loan or purchase) as a further makeweight?
Call it 55m + Dier + a few mill in add-ons and you're there.

Troy Parrott wouldn't slot 20 goals in the National League FFS. 3 in 32 for PNE is a shithouse return.
He is so overrated by our fan base that it is laughable. If he was any good at all we wouldn't be looking at guys like Orban and Veliz because Parrott would be bashing down the door. And given how much faith Postecoglou historically puts in young players it is an indictment on Troy that he hasn't yet taken the next step, regardless of his current injury concerns.

We are never getting Eze now. We won't pay £75m or anything close to it in a million years, I don't think he's particularly worth what is being bandied about either, if he wasn't HG would be worth £30m max, even in this market.
