What because we lost a penalty shootout?
So Ange has been defined by a penalty shootout?
FFS that's not the point.
It's the intention and the feeling that we didn't even try to win which is what's bothering people.
No-one would have said anything or put this on the manager if he played the same 11 against Bournemouth and lost, the narrative surrounding this result would be entirely different.
The problem is now he's made a rod for his own back because if we don't do well in the league or the FA Cup then people are always going to come back to this match and point to the fact that we threw it away.
I had the exact same feeling against Forest and Sheffield United last season, at least with those matches we had the CL to fall back on, all we have now is the FA cup and the league.
For the record though I don't think he makes the same mistake again and I think we'll do well in the league and you will see a positive and progressive season but this stings a lot.
