Fati on loan keeping our powder dry for next summer when we understand the squad better, have a less problematic deadwood situation and hopefully have European football making us more appealing seems like the stronger play here.
I don't agree. We have the money to spend now, we have positions we really need to strengthen, and I don't think we really have issues appealing to our targets.

I don't think any team can replace a player like for like.
City bought Haaland after failing to sign Kane, who would have replaced Aguerro. The 3 are different in so many ways.
It doesn't mean you can't sign a high quality player to do the job. We have a front 3 who can barely score a goal (even threatening to) between them. That's a concern.

That is a concern for sure - after 3 games I'm not too worried just yet but yes we need our forward to kick on.

This is, however, a completely different discussion to the point I was making.

Firstly apologies for that Orban tweet I didn't check the date as I'm a moron.

Secondly, I wouldn't put this past the club putting this Fati stuff out there to try and drive the price on Brennan Johnson lower, which will arguably backfire as they'll keep him, Fati will stay in Spain and we will get a deadline day deal for Peter Odemwingie.... He's probably already parked outside waiting for it to happen!

He's a left inside forward, and we plenty of left-sided players already. He also has one working knee and is not as athletic as Johnson.
I think Fati could play up top too, whereas Johnson seems like a pure duel with Kulusevski for RW minutes.

(The 4-4-2 in the second half last night was interesting, I didn't know Ange had that in the bag, could Johnson partner Richy/Son up there? Would he play a league game with Bissouma and Maddison in a *gulp* diamond?)
